Play Grease Bingo - 90 Ball Bingo
Article Updated On 25th March 2020
Ten years ago Foxy Bingo launched a new advertising campaign that featured the classic pop hit You're The One That I Want. Fast forward 10 years and things have gone full circle with the launch of Grease Bingo. Now it'd have been a nice neat circle if it had launched on Foxy, but this 90 ball game is on Virtue Fusion and available at selected brands.
- Type Of Game: 90 Ball Bingo
- Cost: 5p
- Open: Friday to Sunday
- Jackpots: Grease Bingo Jackpot
- Extras: You're The One That I Want Jackpot
- Special Features: Roll Over FH on some games
How To Play Grease Bingo
Join Danny Zuko and Sandy Olsson to play Grease Bingo at the weekend. This 90 ball bingo game is heavily branded with the iconic images of the movie's main characters. Sandy in her sexy makeover looks stands hands on hips to the left of the bingo cards, whilst Danny is on the right. The background is the fairground that appears at the end of the film and the ensemble sing "We Go Together". The big question is does Grease and bingo go together like rama lama lama ka dinga da dinga dong?
As a 90 ball bingo game the format is exactly the same as any other. The aim of the game is to complete the numbers on your card and hopefully win a one line, two line or full house prize. The style of game varies so you may find you're playing Roll Over Rizzo where there are additional full house prizes. Tickets for Grease Bingo cost from just 5p and you can purchase up to 90 tickets for each game.
To make the game more interesting there are two jackpots. The first is a Grease Bingo Jackpot. This is a progressive prize and is won if a full house is called within 35 calls or less. Note that this is a community pot so the prize is shared 50/50 between the winner and the roomies playing at the time. The second jackpot called You're The One That I Want is fixed. This is awarded to the full house winner if they call house on 1, 11, 21, 31, 41, 51, 61, 71 or 81. In other words any number that ends in 1!
Grease Bingo looks good but it could be better! The number calls don't relate to anything from the movie. We think the game would be more fun with calls by either a T-Bird or Pink Lady rather than a generic caller. If you closed your eyes during the game the only way you'd know this was Grease Bingo would be by the occasional musical interludes. Whilst these sound like Grease they're like a muzak version of the hits. Don't expect to hear John Travolta or Olivia Newton John singing either.
Is Grease Bingo The Word?
Additionally there are no clips of the movie or corny soundbites from the characters. We presume this will be due to usage rights, but how much more enjoyable this game would be with Rizzo saying "Well, here we are again" just before the first number call or Danny shouting "It's Greased Lightning" when the full house is won. We'd also have loved to have seen a bonus game included in the process with qualifying players getting the chance to win spins or extra tickets.
Overall Grease Bingo gives the 90 ball game a fun makeover without really adding too much to the base game. We're not really sure why it's only available to play at weekends but perhaps that saves it from becoming stale. Currently it's also only available at selected Virtue Fusion/Playtech brands and these include William Hill, Paddy Power, Mecca, Sky and Betfair.
