More Cozy Games Bingo Brands Close Down
Added On 9th January 2020
2019 was the year of the bingo site closure. A large number of brands on the Dragonfish and Cozy Games platforms have ceased running during the past 12 months. However the departures from the online bingo arena haven't ended just because we've entered a new year. In fact another large swathe of sites are no longer with us as we enter a new decade.
The following sites that were active on the Cozy Games have now closed: Arctic Bingo, Bingo1, Bingo Gran, Bingo Legacy, Bingo Rascals, Bingo Sphere, Buddha Bingo, Carboot Bingo, Fairy Dust Bingo, Gumball Bingo, Hippy Bingo, Judge Bingo, Jungle Fever Bingo, LMAO Bingo, Merry Go Bingo, More Than Bingo, Paw Print Bingo, Pay Day Bingo, Ready Set Bingo, Rockin Bingo, Santas Bingo, Spin And Bingo, The Bingo Queen, United Colours Of Bingo and Vampire Bingo. That's a total of 25 different sites.
Visitors to these site are given a short notice of closure whilst being redirected to another brand that's still active on the Cozy Games platform. For the most part these are Velvet Bingo and Booty Bingo. Intriguingly the notice suggests the alternative site on offer is "the largest comparison site in the industry, featuring 500+ reviews, as well as the best deals, no deposit required offers and free spins promotions." We wonder whether this is a nod towards things to come?
If you held an account with any of the above sites and believe you have funds then you are advised to contact support at livebingonetwork.co.uk. This is the same email address for all the sites listed - and indeed any that have closed before hand. Support at Live Bingo Network should be able to assist you in finding out about your old accounts and getting any cash funds back to you. However, you should have received notice of the closure.
This batch of closures contains no surprises. Of those listed only Carboot Bingo stood out from the crowd. This brand aimed to do something different with it's virtual carboot sale, but sadly this didn't materialise. Buddha Bingo is another brand that stands out - not so much because it will be missed - but because it demonstrates the depths that bingo plunged to when their was a battle royale for new brands. Buddha Bingo should really never have existed in our view.
The departure of Santas Bingo was also expected. Given the UKGC's clamp down on anything that may attract children to gambling it's surprising just how long Santas Bingo lasted beyond the first intervention! These closures now mean that there's just a handful of Cozy Games (now ElectraWorks Limited) sites left from the original stable. Of course these are joined by the more high profile Foxy, Cheeky and Party brands. But what does 2020 hold going forward?
We anticipate that those remaining original brands will all eventually meet their demise. This will leave GVC's big brands as the only incumbants on the platform. Given that GVC own Gala, Ladbrokes and Coral we anticipate that in time all three of these brands will move to the platform. Whether that will all take place in 2020 remains to be seen as contracts will be in place but moves are already underway.
For GVC this is a good move because they'll be managing their brands on their own platform but their could be issues. We're still not convinced players like the platform, most certainly with respect to bingo, and the fact that over 100 sites that used the platform are not sustainable backs this up. Yes there have been improvements with Friends Bingo and Cash Out Bingo but Foxy are still a long way off the pace when compared to other sites.
