Play The X Factor Bingo - 90 Ball Bingo

Published On 13th December 2022

The X Factor arrived on our TV screens in 2004 and has been responsible for kicking off the careers of JLS, Little Mix, Olly Murs, James Arthur, Stacey Solomon, Cher Lloyd and of course One Direction. Like Britain's Got Talent the popular singing contest has also attracted interest from online gambling and features in slots, scratchcards, slingo and the now closed X Factor Games. However long before these variations there was The X Factor Bingo - an exclusive 90 ball game at Mecca Bingo. Despite the show taking some time out from it's TV slot, and according to Simon Cowell not expected back until at least 2024, the bingo game continues to be part of the roster of games available for players. But does this particular variant on the 90 ball game have The X Factor or is it lacking any serious talent?

How To Play The X Factor Bingo

The X Factor Room Bingo comprises of three sections. At the top of the screen you'll find details of the current game including players and bingo prizes. Below that is the Judges Jackpot which represents The X Factor judges table. On the table is a community bingo card which we'll explain about below. Squeezed in below all this are the bingo cards. Don't expect to see any of the various contestants, presenters or judges from The X Factor shows in this particular game. The X Factor Bingo game is a 90 ball game and for the most part plays in exactly the same way as every other 90 ball game. The aim for you as the player is to get one line, two lines or a full house by matching the number calls with the numbers on your ticket. The number calls sound like they're being made by voiceover guy Peter Dickson although we're pretty sure that it isn't him. To make the game more interesting there's the Judges Jackpot. This is a bonus game that comes into play at the end of every round.

Judges Jackpot

The Judges Jackpot comprises of a 90 ball bingo card. At the end of a round if the full house bingo call is on the judge's card then that number is crossed off. Prizes are awarded if any number is marked off the card. Additionally there are prizes for one line, two lines and the full house. The prizes are fixed at £5 for one number, £50 for one line, £100 for two lines and £500 for the full house. When the Judges Jackpot is won then a new set of numbers are generated. Ticket prices start at 5p but more expensive games do take place. You can purchase between 1 and 36 tickets per game. Despite this being quite an old game the room is reasonably busy and the prizes on offer decent. For example a 15p ticket game boasted a full house prize of just over £25 with 50 players participating. There is a chatroom too and occasional chat games played. You can switch off the chat as it's usually just people posting how many numbers they have to go!

Our Verdict

Like the Britains Got Talent Bingo room, The X Factor Bingo is a cash only room. This means that any bonuses you may have accrued at Mecca Bingo will not be valid for spending within the room. So does this particular game have The X Factor? It's mixed reviews from us! We like it as a 90 ball game because it works well as a 90 ball game. The extra bonus card adds an extra dimension to proceedings. The odds of winning the Judges Jackpot seem to be quite slim and it's unclear how many games take place between each £500 win. The problem with The X Factor Bingo is where's the tie-in with the TV show? Attaching four silhouetted judges to a bingo card and having a voiceover guy who may be The X Factor voiceover guy, or who at least sounds like him, doesn't really seem to be enough! To be fair this game does come into it's own when a series is on TV as free games and extra jackpots are offered but like the series it all feels just a little bit dated. That said the room remains incredibly popular so we suggest that you decide for yourself!
