Say Yes To The Dress Bingo Closes Down
Article Updated On 6th May 2020
In November 2019 the hit TV show Say Yes To The Dress launched it's own bingo brand. When we announced the news of this new site we concluded our article with the following: "launching it under the hope that a player will choose it because it's got the same name as a TV show will mean - in our view - a very short partnership". Well you can call us Mystic Meg or Mystic Loquax because after just six months on the Dragonfish platform Say Yes To The Dress Bingo is closing.
Players that signed up to the brand should have received an email announcing the closure. The email states that "We would like to inform you that Say Yes To The Dress Bingo will cease operating its gaming services on May 18th, 2020". They go on to thank players with "Say Yes To The Dress Bingo would like to thank you for your loyalty and dedication in helping us give you the best bingo experience possible". Note that if you do have funds with the site then they must be spent or withdrawn before May 17th 2020.
More Site Closures
The closure of Say Yes Bingo is a bit of a surprise. It was advertised around the TV show although we suspect these ads were dropped in response to the current health crisis. This may well have limited the brand's ability to advertise. Bingo brands that are working and that are successful tend not to have the doors closed on them. Shutting up shop after just six months suggests that this particular project hasn't quite gone to plan.
Say Yes To The Dress Bingo isn't the only Dragonfish brand that's gone south in 2020. The following have all closed in recent months: ABC Bingo, Bingo Flirt, Bingo In The Sun, Bingo Please, Bingo Wags, Brits Bingo, Cocktail Bingo, Get Betty, High Life Bingo, Mile High Bingo, Peeps Bingo, Red Carpet Bingo, Sexy Shoes Bingo, Shampoo Bingo and Steamy Bingo. Many of these brands have been online for a number of years. Brits Bingo is perhaps the "biggest" name as they featured Gavin Henson and Katya Virshilas!
All Stars Bingo
Despite the closure of a TV themed site and one that's utilised celebrities that doesn't stop others entering the online bingo world. Bingo All Stars is the latest addition to the Dragonfish Network. 1st UK Online Entertainment are behind the site and they've signed up bingo stalwarts Christopher Biggins, Linda Lusardi, Rustie Lee, Russell Grant, Jean Martyn and Mr Motivator to front the brand and get involved with promotions. Rustie Lee and Jean Martyn were heavily involved with Sun Bingo's Having A Ball so it's great to see them back. This new site looks very flashy and the celebs appear in a lot of the imagery.
However underneath the cover it's still a Dragonfish Network brand with the same rooms and promotions that appeared on all the sites that have closed above, including Say Yes To The Dress Bingo. New brands, old brands, brands that have spent money on advertising and brands that haven't have all closed. The question is why? Is the product the issue? Or are there just not enough players to go round? It'll be interesting to see how All Stars Bingo fairs and whether the likes of Biggins and Rustie Lee can fair better than a wedding dress programme to attract interest.
