Play Masked Singer Bingo - 90 Ball Bingo
Article Updated On 5th January 2021
The Masked Singer is one of the TV hits of the year and it's back for a second outing just after Christmas. To celebrate the new series PlayOJO have secured the rights to host a themed slots and bingo game based around the show. Details of the actual game and format haven't been released as yet but it's Pragmatic Play's first foray into producing a TV themed bingo game. We're assuming it'll be a 90 ball game possibly along the lines of The X Factor Bingo or Britain's Got Talent Bingo.
- Type Of Game: 90 Ball Bingo
- Cost: From 1p
- Open: 9am to 11pm
- Jackpots: Must Drop Daily Jackpot
- Extras: Win Free Tickets
- Special Features: Match The Mask Bonus
How To Play The Masked Singer Bingo
Luckily for us The Masked Singer Bingo is a 90 ball game. This means that for the most part it plays exactly like any other - you buy your tickets, the numbers are drawn and the aim is to get one line, two lines and a full house before the other roomies in order to win the prizes. Thankfully there are a couple of additional twists though to firstly add a bit of interest and also to keep the game on theme. With respect to the theme, the TV show branding is well incorporated into the room and the theme tune occasionally can be heard.
When you go to buy tickets for a game you're first invited to select a character such as duck, monster, butterfly or queen bee. Each character represents a group of numbers. Fans of the show will note that the characters are those that appeared in season 1 of the UK version. Season 2 characters will be added later. Once you've chosen a character it's simply a case of picking your cards and playing bingo. If at the end of the game the full house winning number corresponds to your chosen character selection then this wins you a free bingo ticket.
Must Drop Jackpot
Must drop jackpots have become an increasingly popular feature in bingo and slots so it's perhaps not a surprise to see one included here. To win the daily jackpot prize you need to call house in 36 calls or less which is a tough ask. If the daily jackpot has not been won by 9pm, then the number of calls required to win the jackpot starts to increase by 1 per game until the final game. If the jackpot still hasn't been won by the last game then the jackpot can be awarded within 90 calls. For this reason it might be worth keeping tabs on games during the last two hours of play.
The Masked Singer is a show which has become many people's guilty pleasure. Putting celebrities in a costume to perform songs whilst other celebs try and guess who they are sounds just plain daft, but somehow it works. It creates a lot of media interest too as there columns and columns of wondering who is behind the mask. Whether this TV show successfully translates into a bingo game we're not so sure. Even more so when the features in question - which are highlighted as unique - aren't actually unique.
Sites like Jackpotjoy have added Must Drop Jackpots as have Dragonfish who host such games in a number of their rooms. Meanwhile the Match The Mask bonus is similar to the Stakeback Colour Feature that you'll find on Tombola's Hex. That all said these are good features and add to the 90 ball game at PlayOJO. The problem is that dressing this variant up in a Masked Singer costume doesn't make it a great game. Some clips from the show, better graphics and interaction might improve things in our view. For example the TV show is a guessing game so why not have the "guess the mask" element at the end with all roomies seeing how everyone voted? Overall it's a fun addition to the bingo world but it's not a game we'll be rushing to play again and again.
