The Draw Review
The Draw describe themselves as "a different type of competition operator" that aims to run with the "best, most honest & completely transparent standards". They offer visitors the chance to win a variety of prizes such as hot tubs, tech gear, holidays, cars and campervans. Ticket prices start at just £1.
Featured Prizes: Cars, Lifestyle Prizes, Cash, Holidays
Free Entry Available: No
Owned by Draw Group Ltd, The Draw launched this year and currently hosts 20 different competitions. The top prizes include a BMW M4, VW Transporter, John Cooper Works Mini and a VW Camperking Camper. Full details are given about each vehicle - including mileage - and this is refreshing when compared to similar sites. As well as vehicles you could win a trip to Dubai, £10000 cash or even a cycling fitness package. Some competitions even have runners up prizes.
How To Enter
To enter a competition at The Draw you need to first pick the prize you'd like to win then answer a multiple choice question. Each question has six possible answers and you are advised to check your answer. This is because you can get the answer incorrect and still buy a ticket. After making your selection decide how many tickets you wish to buy and complete the purchase. Note that there are discounts for buying multiple tickets.
Each competition page shows a countdown clock but note that this is just an estimated closing date. The actual closing date can be seen in the small print under the entry form. A competition should close sooner if all tickets are sold although there's no indication of how many tickets have been sold. Unusually for these competitions, "if less than 80% of the tickets available are sold, the prize draw will not take place and all those who have purchased tickets for the prize draw will be refunded". Also unusually The Draw doesn't offer a no purchase necessary option.
The Draw do have a winners page and this shows that people have won their competitions. What it doesn't show is which competitions they have won which for a site high on transparency is disappointing. One thing we do like about The Draw is that they are using PromoVeritas to manage their draws. Other sites use random number generators and Facebook Live but PromoVeritas is an external ajudicator of many prize promotions so comes with good reputation. This means that the owners will not be involved with or conduct the draws.
One massive plus point for The Draw is that that encourage responsible play and highlight Begambleaware.org. This is the first site we've seen do this and hopefully it won't be the last. This plus the use of PromoVeritas gives us a degree of confidence in this site over a number of others. All is not perfect - we'd like to see number of tickets sold indicated and the winners section details expanded. We'd also like a cash prize awarded if 80% of ticket sales aren't met rather than refunds.
Raffle and skill competitions can be expensive and addictive. Only wager if you can afford to lose. Sites like The Draw are not regulated in the same way as other UK gambling sites. Please play responsibly. begambleaware.org.
