Wonderland Slot Review

Back in 2011, Jackpotjoy were in Wonderland with the launch of their brand new slot game. Inspired by the characters created by CS Lewis, this game gives you the opportunity to spin up to one hundred lines. Along the way you'll discover enchanting bonus rounds and perhaps even have the chance to win one of four magical Progressive Jackpots.

Wonderland Slots Review

Graphically Wonderland looks fantastic. The reels are in a garden setting whilst each slot spin is accompanied with a soothing flute soundtrack. However, before you get to that stage you are offered you the choice of 4 progressive jackpots to play based on your preferred coin size. The progressive jackpot depends upon the price you pay per line. Your options are 1p, 5p, 10p and 20p per line - but you can increase and decrease coin size once you're in the game.

25 To 100 Paylines

As well as being able to set the coin size, players can also adjust the number of paylines on this 5 reel slot. Choose from 25, 50, 75 or paylines. Note that your wager will increase based on the number of lines you choose. Disappointingly there's no autoplay feature but you can spin happily on desktop, mobile and tablet devices.

Back in 2011 Wonderland is one of Jackpotjoy's better looking games and the characters from Alice in Wonderland are well defined. Alice is the top paying character and offers x1000 the active coin size for 5 of a kind. The Mad Hatter offers x500 whilst The White Rabbit gives x300. Other symbols include The Cheshire Cat and a Flamingo.

Bonus Features

The main feature of Wonderland is a bonus round that's activated when three or more symbols appear on the reels. These open secret doors to new adventures in Wonderland. The bonus games include Croquet Bonus, Mad Tea Party Bonus, Painting The Roses Bonus and The Queen's Court Bonus. The progressive jackpot can be won from any of these bonus games.

To win the progressive you need to either (1) play 5 croquet hedgehogs with gold stars on their belly; (2) pick a cake with the progressive coin at the Mad Hatter's Tea Party; (3) paint all the roses red before the Queen appears or (4) turn the Joker Card in The Queen's Court. Note that this is a shared progressive jackpot and it climbs alongside plays on Tiki Temple and Deal Or No Deal.

Our Verdict

Back in 2011 we commented that the downside of Wonderland was that it seemed a little bit slow. That's not so much the case now, although the slot still has a gentle pace to it. Perhaps a little too gentle if the bonus rounds are not popping up on a regular basis. On the plus side it still looks great.

Although the progressive jackpot is tied up with Tiki Temple the prize money doesn't climb into the millions - as it used to back in the early days of Deal Or No Deal. However, this shouldn't stop you playing and it's full credit to Gamesys for a slot that still looks good and is enjoyable to play several years on.
