The long awaited successor to Zeus has finally arrived at Sky Vegas! Zeus III, powered by Williams Interactive, is one of the new generation of slots boasting a 6 reel game play with a whopping 192 potential winning lines on every spin. When you first load in the game you'll be surprised by the layout as it's different to the usual 5 reel slots. However, this doesn't diminish the game play and before long you're used to the changes.
The aim of the slot is simply to match up the Ancient Greek symbols. Each spin will cost you a minimum of 40p but you can multiply this up to £80. You are unable to reduce the number of lines that you play. With each spin you're hoping to activate the feature for the potential of bigger wins.
To trigger the feature, players must fill the reel with Zeus symbols. The feature round gives players the chance to win an additional bonus with the Flipped Reels which convert the reel on which a Zeus symbol comes up to one full of wilds! There's also a free spin feature which is triggered when three or more lightening bolts appear on the lines.
As an aside, Zeus looks a lot like the love child of Brian Blessed and Blackbeard having a really bad day. In fact it could well be the slot developer after seeing the quality of the icons chosen for the game. For an innovative game, they're not really up to par. We'd have liked to have seen an improvement in imagery since Zeus I and II. Another point worth mentioning is that 192 win lines just gets really confusing - oh for the days when it was just one!!
Overall though as a 6 reel slot, Zeus III is slick with pretty gentle and unobtrusive music, although the eerie storm noises when you're not playing can become a tad annoying. The quirky wedding-cake-on-its-side-layout along with the smaller card deck symbols, makes it easy on the eye compared to earlier versions of the game. It definitely makes a nice change from the 5 reel games which are struggling in terms of innovation. If you like something different then try Zeus III but be prepared to wait a while for the feature - on our test run it didn't show up once! Perhaps try it for free first via demo play at Sky Vegas before wagering for real?
