Lucky Angler Slot Review
Fishing is perhaps not the most obvious them when it comes to a slot, especially as the current trend seems to be Film and TV. However, the folks over at Net Entertainment have come up with an angling inspired game and it's called Lucky Angler - A Snowy Catch. It's a 15 line, 5 reel slot which allows you to win both ways.
Lucky Angler: A Snowy Catch is - as you'd expect from Net Entertainment - a well designed game that features an underwater back drop. Look to the top of the slot and you'll realise this depicts a frozen lake. Silhouettes of fish swim the murky depths as you spin the reels. The reels themselves feature fishy icons such as lobsters alongside the usual playing card symbols of Jacks, Queens, Kings etc. An underwatery sound accompanies your gameplay just to add to the aquatic theme.
The top paying symbol is the red fish who will reward you with x2000 your line stake for five of a kind. The orange fish pays x1500 whilst it's x1000 for the blue fish, You can play Lucky Angler from as little as 1p a line - although note that as you win both ways your minimum bet will be 30p not 15p. If you're feeling flush then you can spin a maximum of £150 (Casumo). Adjust the lines and coin size to determine your wager.
The Lucky Angler slot has two main features - Sticky Wilds and Scatter. The Sticky Wilds act like any other slot but if it's part of a winning combination then it will stay fixed on it's reel until you lose. In the base game Sticky Wilds only appear on reels 2 and 4. Wilds in both these positions can be very beneficial in generating a sequence of wins.
Get three or more fishy scatter symbols on the reels to activate the free spins bonus round. You can collect between 10 and 20 free spins depending on the number of scatters that appear (3 to 5). There are 10 spins for three scatters, 15 spins for four and 20 spins for five. During the free spins Sticky Wilds also count but are active on reels 2, 3 and 4. This is great when it occurs because it helps generate some big wins. The bonus round can be retriggered during free spins.
Whilst the Sticky Wilds popped up from time to time during our trial play, frustratingly the free spins round failed to materialise. Hopefully you will have more luck. Occasionally we'd get one or two scatter symbols but never three or more. This leaves you cursing in traditional fisherman style about the ones that got away.
We cast our net out and gave Lucky Angler a spin at one of our featured casino brands. We have to say we really enjoyed the game - you could say that it reeled us in. Admittedly it's not the flashiest of slots, but it does well to maintain player interest. Compared to Fluffy Favourites or the new Fluffy Too, we'd most certainly opt to go fishing every time.
Lucky Angler is available at Dragonfish powered sites including Costa Games and Wink Slots. You will also find it at other casinos that host Net Entertainment slots such as Casumo, Chomp Casino, Mr Green and many more. It has an RTP of 96.4% (Casumo) and that makes it medium variance. We did find wins were frequent but the Sticky Wilds did generate the best amounts. Grab your tackle and reel in Lucky Angler on mobile, desktop and tablet.
