Gemburst Slot Review
Gemburst is a new addition to Mecca Bingo courtesy of Openbet. It's a 243 payline, 5 reel slot that has a geological meets space age theme. That may not sound that exciting but these rocks bring with them a whole host of features including cascading combos and free spins.
Gemburst can be played from 25p to £100 a spin. Set your wager via the 'Ways Bet' button located centre bottom of the game. An AutoPlay option is available and you can set this to 5 to 99 plays as well as stopping play on overall losses or a single win.
Visually, Gemburst looks good. The game is set in a mine that has glowing purple crystals on the outside. The icons are made of large rocks and the usual K, Q, J and A to make up the numbers. Gameplay is accompanied by a gentle electro soundtrack which wouldn't be out of place as a waiting for an operator tune when you're on the phone.
The main features of Gemburst are the cascading combos, wilds and free spins. When you win on the game all the winning symbols explode off screen and the reels repopulated. If you win again then prizes are multiplied up to x5. A cascade ends when there are no more way winnings present and the win multiplier is reset!
Get Up To 30 Free Spins
Free spins are triggered when the dynamite symbol appears at least three times on the reels. This feature can result in up to 30 free spins. When you get this feature you need to place the bombs under your choice of reels. We're not sure what happens next because we were unable to get to the bonus round.
This is the first Openbet game that we've played and we were pleasently surprised. We particularly liked the information you get when you click on the symbols of the game. The music can grate after a while, but that can be turned off, and it'd have been nice to see a free spins round after a lot of plays.
