Arcane Reel Chaos Slot Review
The exciting thing about slots is that they vary so much. On one hand you have simple games with fruits whilst at the other you have elaboarate design and back story. Arcane Reel Chaos from Net Entertainment falls into the latter category. However this isn't exactly a new game! In fact it's a new variation on the South Park Reel Chaos slot - but with new characters as the South Park license wasn't renewed.
Arcane Reel Chaos is a 5 reel 20 payline slot from Net Entertainment. It's a character led story slot which features Psyop, Chronos, Zero.x and Flare taking on Deep Pockets. Deep Pockets is businessman Don Parker who has been cursed to live life as an alter ego after releasing an ancient evil. The other characters do battle with Deep Pockets using their various super powers.
Stylish Slot From NetEnt
When this slot loads it feels very dramatic from the off. The characters are introduced even before you see the reels. The reels themselves are set inside a demolished church that opens up against a night city backdrop. It is very stylish but it's nothing more than you'd expect to see from a Net Entertainment production.
Wagering on Arcane Reel Chaos starts at 20p but this can be increased to a maximum of £200 by adjusting the coin value to £10. An Autoplay features allows you to set up to 1000 spins (does anyone actually do that?) whilst advanced options lets you stop the autoplay based on wins, losses or free spins. We like that you can set autoplay to stop if you gain or lose x number of pounds.
Back to the game and on the reels you'll find the main characters alongside low paying playing card symbols of 10, J, Q, K and A. Deep Pockets is the highest paying symbol at 3750 for five of a kind. He's followed by Flare at 1875 and the two headed Zero.X at 1125. Chronos will give you 750 whilst it's 562.50 from Psyop.
At any time during the game the superheroes can appear and use their special powers against Deep Pockets. Pysop offers overlays stacked wilds on 2 or 3 reels whilst Zero.x will overlay wilds across the reels and create 3 to 5 wild symbols. Flare offers multipliers during the game and can increase a win line by x3, x4 or x5. Finally Chronos activates a re-spin after a no win spin. This feature will continue until a bet line win occurs. Each re-spin increases the multiplier from a minimum of x2 up to a maximum of x10.
A free spins bonus round is where our hereoes take on Deep Pockets directly. Three or more scatter symbols - a snake wrapped around an amulet - activate the round. Before the spins begin a character is drawn on the left of the screen to face Deep Pockets who appears on the right. Each free spin then generates a result for or against Deep Pockets. A win line is a successful attack but a loss sees Deep Pockets beat his opponent.
The free spins continue until one side or the other is successful. Beat Deep Pockets across four different stages to win an extra bonus on top of the wins from free spins. At each stage the heroes are given extra lives and wins are multiplied. We do wonder whether anyone realistically (or statistically) will complete all the levels of this bonus?
If you played South Park Reel Chaos then you'll find that Arcane is pretty much that game but with different characters. If you're new to Arcane then we think you'll be pretty impressed with what you'll find. It's more dark and dystopian than South Park, but it's also equally impressive to find a slot with some kind of story potential.
The slot has a RTP of 96.81% making it medium variance. It's also perfect to play on mobile, tablet and desktop. Without the South Park licence to initially grab players, Arcane may get overlooked but this one should rapidly climb the charts and become a top title at any casino where it is featured.
