The Legacy Of Ra Megaways Slot Review
Buzz Bingo - No Wagering
The Megaways bandwagon continues to gain momentum with yet another addition to this expanding stable of slots. The latest game to use this engine is Blueprint Gaming's The Legacy Of Ra. With 15,625 ways to win will you enjoy the challenge as you seek out hidden Egyptian treasures? Or will this Megaways slot leave you as disasppointed as watching The Mummy 3?
The Legacy Of Ra Megaways is an Egyptian themed 6 reel slot from Blueprint Gaming. Set inside a secret pyramid chamber, the slot emphasises it's theme with a sunset scene of pyramids, palms and camels at the top of the gaming. Typical Egyptian style music accompanies the slot. The Megaways engine offers 15,625 different paylines which is the same as Fishin' Frenzy but considerably less than Mystery Reels Megaways.
Megaways Game Engine
On the reels you'll find our heroine of the piece. We suspect she's modelled on Lara Croft as she looks nothing like Indiana Jones! Get six of a kind across the reels for a x25 payout. Note that the Megaways game engine pays out when symbols appear on adjacent reels (left to right). They don't need to be touching for a win line to be created.
The remaining reel symbols comprise Egyptian artefacts as playing cards (9, 10, J, Q, K and A). In addition you'll find wilds and "The Legacy Of Ra" scatter symbol. Wagering on the slot starts at 10p but this can be increased up to a maximum of £10. This maximum may vary from casino to casino. An Autoplay option is also available.
When three or more scatter symbols appear on the reels the bonus feature is activated. The number of spins varies from 10 to 50 depending on the number of scatters (3, 4, 5 or 6). In addition a special expanding symbol is included with the spins. This is randomly chosen at the start of the bonus feature and it expands for more ways to win big. If you wish to go direct to the bonus you can buy in at x100 the stake.
As much as we like bonus features and as much as we hate the frustrations of waiting for one, paying out x100 your stake to access it doesn't seem a good investment. It'd be much easier if a player could simply test the bonus is demo mode just to overview it. Demo modes of The Legacy Of Ra Megaways are available, but to date they never seem to work!
Egyptian History plus Explorers are popular theme for slots. Vicky Ventura, Rick Wild and Lara Croft all feature in related games. Legacy Of Ra is actually quite decent and the addition of the Megaways engine adds an extra layer to the slot. Whilst there seems to be an abundance of Megaways slots the good thing is that there are variations. This one for example doesn't have cascading wins.
Overall it's a decent game which should keep you interested for a few spins or at least until the next Megaways slot is unleashed. It's a highly volatile slot with an RTP of 96.01%. This increases to 97.01% when you opt to buy-in to the bonus round directly. The buy-in is perhaps the only concern with the game - at x100 buy-in you could literally walk away with a mega win or nothing. Like walking through any old pyramid, we suggest you exercise extreme caution with that particular feature.
