Narcos Slot Review
Net Entertainment have taken a massive step away from 'cute & fluffy' with the launch of their latest slot. Narcos is based on the Netflix series of the same name and takes players to 1970s Colombia and the time of Pablo Escobar. It has a Grand Theft Auto feel to it and looks incredibly stylish despite it's theme. But with 243 paylines and Walking Wilds is it any good?
Narcos is a 5 reel slot with 243 paylines from Net Entertainment. It opens with an impressive opening sequence, complete with Spanish guitars, that introduces players to the world of Narcos. As someone without Netflix we'd never heard of the show, but it's something we will investigate based solely on the intro. The slot itself looks stylish with a Colombian Street scene as a backdrop.
Wagering On Narcos
Wagering on Narcos starts at just 20p. This can be adjusted up to a maximum of £400. Use the coin value (maximum £2) and level (maximum 10) to adjust your stake. An Autoplay option is also available. This can set autoplay up to a maximum of 1000 spins. Each spin of the reel is started with a spinning gun chamber.
On the reels you'll find various characters as the high paying symbols. We're assuming these represent the likes of Javier Pena and Steve Murphy. These pay x300 for five of a kind. Medium paying figures include flamingos and planes. In addition the remaining symbols are playing cards J, Q, K and A. Wilds - a special agent badge - scatters and bonus symbols complete the roster.
Get a wild on a winning line and the Walking Wild feature is activated. During the base game and free spins rounds, the wild will stay on the reels and move horizontally to the left with each spin. This is joined by a Drive-By Feature that activates randomly during any spin. Shots will be fired to turn high paying symbols into wilds.
The features keep coming with the Locked Up Feature. When 3 or more of these symbols appear on the same row they are moved together. They are then assigned a random coin value of between x1 to x10 bet value. Following this only Locked Up and Golden Locked Up symbols will appear on the reels to form bigger winning clusters.
Finally there are free spins. Get three scatter symbols appearing anywhere on reels 1, 3 and 5 to win 10 free spins. When the bonus round is activated a new backdrop, a neon lit cafe, comes into play. This backdrop is the scene for a shootout between the good guys and bad guys. It's all very chaotic but a lot more exciting than most free spin rounds you'll see.
On every free spin there's the chance that high paying symbols can be changed to wilds. Expect to see plenty of gunshots during the round. These gunshots see the high paying symbols spin and they may or may not change to become a wild. Extra free spins will be awarded if Walking Wilds remain on the reels at the end of the 10 spins.
Narcos is set to become one of the biggest slot games of the year. It looks amazing and is packed full of features. Although having never heard of the show we still became quickly engrossed in the action. There's always something going on and NetEnt have put a lot of thought and detail into the game.
The RTP is 96.23% (Casumo) and this makes it medium variance. It's perfectly designed to play on mobile, tablet and desktop. We enjoyed testing out this slot - and picked up some big wins during a free spin round as well as with walking wilds. It's most certainly one to watch and one to take for a spin.
