Slingo Centurion Review

The popular Slingo stable has decided to head into history for their latest game. They've teamed up with Inspired Gaming to take us to Ancient Rome. Slingo Centurion is the name of the game and players will be hoping for Maximus Winnus on every spin. Unlike many other games in the Slingo stable you don't instantly win cash prizes by completing the lines of the 5x5 grid. Instead you win entries into bonus rounds including Wild Power Spins, Road To Rome and Prizes On Parade.

Slingo Centurion Review

Slingo Centurion is set in the grounds of a stunning Roman villa. Beautiful Italian greenery is the backdrop whilst the 5x5 Slingo board is located inside Roman pillars. Look closely towards the right of the game screen and you'll notice a green bush. Look even closer and you'll notice the eyes and helmet of a centurion. He plays a role in the game! To the left of the game board is the prize board. Here you'll see the number of Slingos required to win the various bonus rounds. A full house is required to get some Wild Power Spins.

How To Play Slingo Centurion

The aim of Slingo Centurion is to get a line - horizontal, vertical or diagonal - of five numbers. With Centurion you're given 10 spins. Each spin generates five numbers below the 5x5 grid. If any numbers match then these are marked off. When you complete a row of five numbers then you move up the prize board. The more lines you complete the higher up the prize board you progress. During game play you may pick up free spins, wilds or devils. The latter prevent you from marking off a number. Occasionally the centurion in the bush will appear to "guarantee" a free spin or mark off 3 numbers on your next turn.

Wagering on this version of Slingo starts at 20p. This can be increased up to a maximum of £25 (Mecca Bingo). The minimum and maximum wager may vary from site to site. There is no Autoplay but Slingo Centurion does allow you to wager on after the base game concludes. Basically once you played all your spins - including free plays - you'll be invited to play on for a given price and shown the potential win available. We advise against this option as wins are very rare.

The Road To Rome

One thing that we do like on Centurion is the play controls. It's not something we've noticed before but apparently it is on other versions. With these controls you can number of extra spins, maximum extra spin price, total game stake and total game loss. These are worth setting if you're going to wager on beyond the base game. We're still iffy about the wager on facility though but with these controls you can at least limit any losses.

In order to win on Slingo Centurion you need to complete at least five lines. You'll then be invited to play a bonus game. There's Reelus Maximus which is a 5 reel slot where the first 3 reels are filled with colossal symbols. Prizes On Parade features centurions that offer you a multiplier win whilst Caesar’s Free Spins is a free slot spins round. Road to Rome is a board game which gives you five dice rolls and finally Wild Power Spins goes backs to the slots with wilds on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th reels.

The Verdict

There are blue and red versions of Caesar’s Free Spins and Road To Rome. The red versions are for 9 and 10 lines but these offer higher prizes compared to the blue versions for 7 and 8 lines respectively. The maximum payout available on this version of Slingo is £250,000. However the top prize is determined by the wager so the top prize is really x10,000 your stake. The Return To Player (RTP) of Slingo Centurion is 95%.

Friends, Romans, Countryman! Here's what we think of the game! Whilst the fundamentals of the slots meet bingo game is no different from the many other titles we do like the win a bonus round approach versus win a straight cash prize. In many ways it does feel like you're getting a little bit more game play for your money. The theme is also quite fun. Overall we think you're going to enjoy playing this version of Slingo! So it simply remains for us to say - nice one Centurion.
