Football Studio Live Review
What do you get when you combine live football with a simple card game? You get the online casino game show Football Studio Live. Created by Evolution Gaming you can enjoy talking about football, including any current matches whilst the dealer gives you the chance to win on a turn of a card. The top payout is x 5000 your initial stake. But is this a top of the league game or should it be in the relegation zone?
When you first enter Football Studio you'd be forgiven for thinking that you'd tuned into a futuristic Final Score. A dealer stands behind a grey table that has a pitch outlined on it and shoe of cards. Behind him is a red area for home and a blue area for away. There are options to change the view so you either have big or small screen. Below the video section is the betting console and chat section. To the right of the screen you'll also see the results of previous plays whilst to the left are football results and up coming matches.
How To Play Football Studio
Playing Football Studio is very easy. It's essentially Hi-Lo! Will the home side or away side have the highest scoring playing card. To place a bet you select your wager (minimum is £1) and place it on either Home, Away or Draw. The odds of winning are shown on the screen. For Home and Away the odds are Evens. However for the draw - i.e. both drawn cards are the same value - then you'll get 11/1. Once all bets are cast the dealer draws a home card and an away card. The highest card on one side or the other determines who wins. Aces are high and suits don't matter. If both cards match numerically then it's a draw. And that's all there is to it.
Keep an eye on the cards as they are being drawn. They are actually scanned as they are picked and sometimes the result shows up quicker than the dealer can reveal the cards. Each turn usually takes about a minute and you can see the previous results to the right of the screen. During the proceedings the dealer is on hand to discuss the game and talk about football. It's not all Premier League either with many of the dealers talking about La Liga and individual players. The dealers change every hour so as to stop the proceedings getting too stale.
Football Studio is a game of luck and as such there's probably no real strategy to apply. However if there's a sequence of Away wins then it might be worth chasing the Home win on the following turns. One thing that you should definitely not chase is the draw, although many punters do every single round. That's understandable as it's tempting with the 11/1 odds compared to evens for Home and Away. However we suggest you play a few times and see how often a draw crops up. That should guide you into not wasting funds.
We suspect that Football Studio might be a lot more interesting when there's a match on - or has just ended - because when there isn't the dealer chat is quite limited. This isn't helped with the game turnover being quite fast so there's actually little time to engage with the dealer via the chat section. In short it does feel like most players are in the room for the gambling and not for the football chat. We can't say that this is our favourite of the live game shows but it is popular amongst players.
