Slingo Fluffy Favourites Review
Fluffy Favourites is one of the most popular slot titles online. It's spawned a number of other slot titles, scratchcards and even a bingo game. Therefore it's perhaps no surprise that the latest chapter in the Fluffy Favourites story is to team up with the increasingly popular Slingo. Eyecon's top title follows in the footsteps of other games such as Rainbow Riches for a version of the slots meets bingo game.
Slingo Fluffy Favourites takes all the cuddly creatures from the slot game and places them into the Slingo universe. The design of the game is incredibly colourful - a little bit too colourful if we're honest - but in it all fits in with the Fluffy theme. A fairground features in the background of the game screen whilst the many characters look are located on the 5x5 grid. The pink elephant, the main fluffy, however is at the right of the screen and likes to wiggle it's butt when good things happen in the game.
How To Play Slingo Fluffy Favourites
The aim of Slingo Fluffy Favourites is to get lines - horizontal, vertical or diagonal - of five numbers. With this game you have an initial 10 spins, represented by 10 red balls. The aim of the game is to create as many lines, known as Slingos, in order to climb up the prize ladder. Unlike many other variants of this game you don't win a cash amount. Instead you win a Fluffy Favourites bonus round such as Toybox Pick, Coin Pusher and Hook A Fluffy. The more lines you achieve the better the type of bonus round and prizes that are available.
Wagering on this version of Slingo starts at 20p. This can be increased up to a maximum of £25 (Gala Spins). The minimum and maximum wager may vary from site to site. Once you start the game the spins are automatic so you don't need to keep hitting the spin button. Each spin generates five numbers below the 5x5 grid. If any numbers match then these are marked off. When you complete a row of five numbers then you move up the prize board. The more lines you complete the higher up the prize board you progress. During game play you may pick up free spins, jokers (wilds) and devils. The latter prevent you from marking off a number.
Win Fluffy Favourite Bonus Rounds
At the end of 10 turns - plus any free spins - you'll be offered the chance to wager on. This is something that surprised us a little as more recent Slingo versions have moved away from this mechanic. Anyway what we did notice was that the wager on option was at least initially a lot kinder. By that we mean the extra amount to wager seemed much more reasonable. We also noticed that in a few cases 'Game Over' would be announced meaning that the computer had decided we didn't have a chance of winning by wagering on. Slingo Fluffy Favourites does have a number of game options so that you can set wagering limits. We suggest using these tools or not using the wager on facility!
If you successfully achieve five or more Slingos in a game then you'll be awarded a Fluffy Favourites bonus round. As mentioned above these are based on bonus rounds within the original slot. The higher up the ladder you go the more opportunities you have within the bonus round. For example for Coin Push at the lowest level you only receive two coins. Similarly Toy Pick only gives you one pick when you achieve five Slingos. The good thing about the bonus rounds is that you are guaranteed to win something although the prizes do tend to be multipliers of your initial wager. This means if you wager on then this isn't included in the multiplier calculation.
If you think you've seen something similar before from Slingo then you'd be right. Slingo Fluffy Favourites is similar in mechanic to a couple of other versions including Rainbow Riches and Slingo Maximums. In fact in our Rainbow Riches review we did say that the format offered "scope for other slot games to lend their names to Slingo variants". But if it ain't broke don't fix it - just rebrand it with another popular slot - and that's exactly what Gaming Realms have done to perfection with Fluffy. There's enough of the popular slot title within this game to pique the interest of players who perhaps haven't spent time spinning the Slingo reels.
That's not to say that we love everything about this game. We had hoped from recent launches that Slingo had moved away from the 'wager on' aspect but that's not the case. It still feels like that the only way you can win is by wagering past the initial base game. That may well be the case but you it'd be nice to win something occasionally without having to go beyond the 10 spins. That aside, overall this is a fun version of Slingo and the marriage with Fluffy Favourites is a good one. We expect it will be available at many brands very soon.
