Monopoly Big Spin Review

Head to a Gamesys brand such as Monopoly Casino, Heart Bingo or Jackpotjoy and you'll find a number of Monopoly themed games. The majority of these are slots but the latest addition to the stable is slightly different. In fact Monopoly Big Spin from Scientific Gaming is more akin to a spin the wheel style game show and roulette than a slot. Is this latest themed game worthy of a place on Mayfair or should it be sent straight to jail?

Go To Monopoly Big Spin

When we first saw Monopoly Big Spin we expected to find a slot. Instead you're greeted with a big spinning wheel game. Mr Moneybags sits in the midst of the wheel whilst on the outside are various symbols and colours that are synonymous with the game. These include Community Chest, Chance, Railroads, Go and Utilities. The bulk of the wheel are coloured segments representing the housing areas on the Monopoly board. The size of each segment is related to their board value, so brown (Old Kent Road) is much bigger than dark blue (Mayfair).

How To Play Monopoly Big Spin

To win on Monopoly Big Spin you need to wager on where you think the wheel will stop. Wagering is very similar to playing on a blacjack or roulette game. Select chips as shown at the bottom of the game and place wagers on the potential outcomes. You can wager from as little as 10p and up to £50. There's no limits to the number of bets you can place but you can't bet more than £50 on any single outcome. The maximum total bet across the whole table is an incredible £700! We think that these limits are much too high.

Once you've placed your bets it's simply a case of spin the wheel. If the wheel stops on a segment that matches your selection then you win. The prize you win will usually be a multiplier of your wager. For example this is 5/1 for brown, 6/1 for light blue, 17/1 for green and 8/1 for orange. Other colours - red, yellow, green and dark blue pay between 10/1 and 25/1. Free parking will pay 30/1 whilst Go pays 40/1. Additionally if you win on either these two options then you'll also receive 2 free spins and 1 free spin of the wheel respectively.

Bonus Wheel

If you win on either Community Chest or Chance then a bonus wheel comes into play. The bonus wheel is made of more Monopoly icons such as Pall Mall, Beauty Contest, Inherit Money, Kings Cross, Advance To Mayfair, Bank Error and Get Out Of Jail Free. Each of these icons have different multiplier values ranging from x5 through to x200. Whereever the bonus wheel stops then this reflects the multiplier of your wager that you will win. The utilities and railroads symbols don't have any special features and simply pay out at 12/1.

Monopoly Big Spin is a fun game that gives a new twist to the popular board game. With so many Monopoly slot titles already featuring Mr Moneybags it's actually quite nice to see something different. The only issue we have with Big Spin is that we've played Monopoly Live and find that that is much more enjoyable experience. Monopoly Live also features a spin the wheel mechanic and feels more immersive. Our advice is to try Big Spin in demo mode first - this is available at Double Bubble Bingo - before opting to wager.
