Kingdoms Rise Chasm Of Fear Slot Review
The Kingdoms Rise world developed by Playtech continues to expand with the arrival of Chasm Of Fear. In this Vikings inspired title you climb aboard a long boat and sail through a chasm where giants live. Can you survive to find giant symbols and expanded reels as well as treasure chest wilds? Plus you can win game tokens on any spin to exchange for features in the Kingdoms Rise Shop.
Kingdoms Rise Chasm Of Fear is a 5 reel 1024 payline slot that joins other titles in this series including Forbidden Forest, Sands Of Fury and Shadow Queen. Whilst these slots are all different in style and design, Kingdoms Rise games are linked by a map and feature shop. You can move between games very simply via the map plus purchase features using game tokens that can be accumulated across all titles. Your game tokens accumulate no matter which title you're playing.
How To Play Chasm Of Fear
Back to Chasm Of Fear and at the start of this game you'll see a long boat entering into a narrow gorge - the chasm of fear. The boat actually serves as the stage for the slot with the sails hosting the reels. The background is designed to give a feeling of motion through the chasm which is quite stylish. However if this gets a bit annoying then you can switch it off via a small button the right of the screen. This stops the boat movement but not the water animation.
Wagering on Chasm Of Fear starts at 10p but can be increased to £100 via the left hand side wagering +/- buttons. An autoplay option gives you the choice of playing 5, 10, 20, 50 or 100 slots. Advanced options allow you to stop autoplay based on loss limit and single win limits. Surprisingly there doesn't seem to be the choice to stop autoplay if the feature bonus round is activated. An info button to the left and spin button to the right complete the game.
On the reels are numerous characters and gems. The Golden Serpent, Jorgunga, is the highest paying symbol with x50 for five on a winning line. This is followed by Jerenna who is the Siren Of The Deep and who pays x40. Champ the Mischeivous Monkey and Butch the Brewer are also characters that feature in the game. One thing that is very good about Kingdoms Rise is the depth of story attached to the games. You can find out more about the characters on the official Kingdoms Rise website.
The base game of Chasm Of Fear has 1024 paylines but this increases to 3456 during the bonus round. The bonus round is activated when a giant symbol appears on row 3 or 4 of reel 5. You can win 3 free spins if the scatter is on row 3 but it's 6 free spins for row 4. This results in an extra two rows being added at the top of reels 2, 3 and 4. Additionally you'll find wilds and multiplier wilds which can result in some big wins when they appear on win lines together.
As part of the Kingdoms Rise stable, Chasm Of Fear also offers players the chance to win 1 of 3 progressive jackpots. These are the Epic Jackpot, Power Strike Jackpot which must be won before it reachs £2000, and the Daily Jackpot that must be won before midnight. These jackpots can be won on any spin. Additionally you can earn those game tokens on each spin. Get enough of them and you can use them to purchase bonus round games via the shop.
Overall we quite like the graphics although we'd like to know more from the various characters that have been created. As you'd expect from a Playtech slot the gameplay is smooth and seamless. Our advice is switch off the moving boat though. We found wins were reasonably frequent whilst playing with the bonus round cropping up a couple of times. Wins on the bonus round were x90 and x20 respectively. There's a lot of good things in this game and Chasm Of Fear is a worthy addition to the Kingdoms Rise world.
