Adventures Beyond Wonderland Live Review
The latest addition to the Live Game Show Spin The Wheel series is Adventures Beyond Wonderland. It's a spin the wheel style game based on the popular Alice In Wonderland story by Lewis Carroll. The aim of the game is to bet on where the wheel will end after a spin. However to make the game more exciting there are Magic Dice, Wonderspins and a Mystery win. All this is bundled up on a stylish set and overseen by a presenter.
When you first enter the Adventures Beyond Wonderland Live Game Show Room you're greeted with a large wheel centre stage, a live presenter who is dressed in a themed costume and a large blue bug called Walter. The set is also themed on the Wonderland story and features large chees pieces to the left of the screen. The wheel is however the star of the show and it features various segments with 1, 2, 5, 10, 2 Wonderspins, 5 Wonderspins, Magic Dice and Mystery on them. As you'd expect 1s and 2s dominate the wheel!
How To Play Adventures Beyond Wonderland
To play Adventures Beyond Wonderland you simply need to place bets on where you think the wheel will stop. You can place bets on all of the seven options and can wager from a minimum of 10p per option. If the wheel stops on a 1, 2, 5, or 10 segment and that matches your choice of bet then you win the multiplier. Additionally before a spin Walter may spit out an extra bonus multiplier for a particular number. This will increase the win provided the wheel stops on that number.
If the wheel stops on Wonderspins then the main wheel turns to reveal a different set of symbols. These represent characters from the story. Walter also gets replaced by The White Rabbit who is on hand to try and increase the multiplier win. The bonus wheel spins to reveal the wins - or in the case when we played a no win! Additional spins of the Wonderspins can be won too. Wins from this bonus round are only paid out to players that have wagered on Wonderspins occurring on the base game.
Magic Dice & Mystery
Magic Dice is another bonus round that can occur during the base game. Bet on this and if the wheel stops you'll be invited to play a game. The aim of the game is to make a pathway through the dice building multipliers as you progress. Get far enough through the game and you could win up to x100 across all your bets. There are only two Magic Dice segment on the wheel so the chances of it occurring is quite remote. We have never seen the Magic Dice bonus round play on this game!
Finally there's a Mystery round bonus - this isn't something you can bet on but everyone potentially wins when this shows up. Players have a choice of accepting a bonus spin or choosing a card from 1 of 4 options from the card soldiers. This card will represent a multiplier win across all your wagers. There are also just two Mystery segments on the wheel so again these don't come up too often. However we have seen it appear at least once!
When we first started to play Adventures Beyond Wonderland we felt that it was a just a standard spin the wheel live game show. However after a few turns and seeing how the game works it quickly becomes a lot more interesting. For the most part it's hard to get big wins but if the wonderspins round occurs or Walter is feeling generous then you can do quite well For example on one 5 Wonderspins round the prize was a x36 multiplier. Wonderspins rounds also seem to occur at a reasonable frequency and this helps to maintain interest.
The presenters are quite entertaining too and it helps that they have Walter and The White Rabbit as foils, but they do regularly engage with players. The animations throughout the game are excellent and they do elevate Adventures Beyond Wonderland from a Spin A Win game into something much more entertaining. Whilst it's evident from some wins that people wager quite a lot on each turn we do like that you can play from just 10p a turn and still enjoy the live game show experience.
