Star Spins Review
Star Spins launched in 2014 as a slot only brand and sister site to Jackpotjoy. Powered by the Gamesys platform it's 100% focus on slots was actually an inspiration as many other platforms soon followed suit. Although it has many similar slots to Jackpotjoy and Virgin Games, it stood apart thanks to it's community slot jackpots. However it now shares these jackpots with Monopoly Casino.
The Star Spins site adopts the same design and style as it's sister brands. However whilst Jackpotjoy is blue and Heart Bingo is red, Star Spins opts for the traditional casino black. Popular slots, jackpots and player offers dominate the main page - after you've logged in. The community jackpots can be seen at the top of the page. Star Spins is accessible on mobile, tablet and desktop. No app is required should you wish to wager using handheld devices.
Star Spins Welcome Offer
New players to Star Spins are offered free spins on Secret Of The Phoenix as welcome bonus. To receive these spins you need to register, login, deposit and then wager £10 on games. You have 30 days from when you make your first deposit to complete the qualifying requirements. Once you've completed this then you'll be rewarded with the spins. Any wins generated from the free spins are paid out as cash and have no wagering terms associated with them.
In terms of slots, Star Spins has a good selection. This selection includes Gamesys' own games such as BangHai, Sky Dogs, Jungle Jump and Double Bubble. These slots are joined by popular titles such as Rainbow Riches, Cleopatra, Action Bank, Gonzo's Quest, Starburst, King Kong Cash, Top Cat, Fluffy Favourites and Sugar Train. Click on the slots tab at the site and you'll find the games laid out by software provider.Providers include IGT, Scientific Gaming, Red Tiger and Eyecon Games.
Star Spins Promotions
Jackpots are a relatively new addition to Star Spins. Gamesys' own progressives such as Double Bubble have been joined by Jackpot King slots and Daily Drop Jackpots. Community Jackpots are unique to Star Spins and Monopoly Casino. These pots can be won by any player, on any game, provided they're playing for real money. The jackpots can be won during the Star Jackpots bonus round. Other players can also win a share of a Community Jackpot if they've been playing in the three minutes before a Progressive Jackpot is won!
In terms of player promotions, Star Spins does offer a daily free game, like it's sister sites. Depositors who have deposited at least £10 can opt to play either Doubly Bubbly, Daily Rainbows or Search For The Phoenix for the chance to win spins or cash prizes. Note you do need to visit each day for the best chance of winning. Star Spins also run other regular promotions. These are usually for the chance to win a Box Bonanza game. These games give you the chance to win cash prizes that have no wagering terms.
Our Verdict
Although Star Spins had a 100% slots focus when it first launched it has subsequently developed to offer casino games. The choice however is surprisingly still limited with multihand blackjack, blackjack match, european roulette, phoenix roulette, hit-me bacarrat, three chance poker, Hi-Lo and Keno making up the numbers. We say surprising as live casino and other table games, including poker, have been added to other Gamesys brands including Jackpotjoy.
When it first launch Star Spins was the perfect foil for Jackpotjoy. It offered players access to just slots whilst offering exclusive community jackpots. Whilst the latter are still in play, albeit now shared with Monopoly Casino, the Star Spins experience is now overshadowed somewhat. Other Gamesys brands have the same roster but extras such as bingo, poker and live casino. If you're just after slots then in our view Star Spins is a good option and also has it's own exclusive promotions.
