Jackpotjoy Lotto

When we last checked Jackpotjoy (May 2015) it appears that they are no longer running this promotion. We have left the review for information purposes only.

With the forthcoming increase in National Lottery prices we expect that many players will be seeking to play the lotto but via alternative means. This could include betting on the results as for a 1 stake you can get better odds. Camelot hope to address this by increasing the prize money for 3 balls to 25 and 100 for 4 balls, but it is at the expense of that price increase. Many bookies already offer lottery betting but recently games site Jackpotjoy jumped on the bandwagon - although their lotto has a slight difference.

Jackpotjoy Lottery

The Jackpotjoy Lotto - whilst not affiliated with The National Lottery - works by using the same numbers. The aim for you as a player is to match the balls and hopefully win a cash prize. Unlike bookies where you have odds of winning, Jackpotjoy will payout the same amount as offered by Camelot. So for example if you get three numbers and The National Lottery pays out 10, then you will win 10 if you played the JPJ lotto. Likewise for other winning permutations.

When it comes to the Jackpot (matching six balls) then things are slightly different - but JPJ will still pay out big prizes. The amount you win really depends on how much players win in the actual game. For example if 5million is shared amongst five Camelot six ball winners but only one player on JPJ wins - then the prize money to the JPJ player is 1million not 5million! There's a full explanation and table on the site which explains how prize money is distributed - so far we don't think anyone has won the big money prizes! Charities don't miss out if you play lotto via Jackpotjoy - which is good news as that's one element of The National Lottery that has been a massive success. Playing via the bookies means that charities may miss out on donations from the games.

At the moment the main reason to play lotto on JPJ is simply convenience - if you're a regular bingo or casino player via the site then it might save you a few moments of time. However, if the site maintains it's 1 entry level come the Autumn then that may well change things considerably! We presume that the low end prizes may not be matched but there's no reason why the jackpot structure can't be maintained when the 2 per ticket charge arrives from Camelot.
