Claire Sweeney Introduces
Added on Friday 10th May 2013
After losing their bingo site when the Cyberbingo Network closed down, Daily Express are back on the bandwagon with a brand new site. To accompany the launch of Daily Express Games they've enlisted the help of former Brookside actress and Loose Women presenter Claire Sweeney.
The advert simply features Sweeney telling us about the new site - with occasional obligatory clips of players on their laptops. The emphasis seems to be in telling players that Daily Express Games is safe and secure - and that the games come from a name you can trust.
It's a fairly safe advert and perhaps one that won't be remembered later on in the year. Does Claire Sweeney give us the confidence to try Daily Express Games - we're not so sure - but she does add a little bit of glamour to the proceedings. She also features on the website so it'll be interesting to see how long the celebrity endorsement lasts.
To entice you into the site there's mentions of a deposit bonus and free scratchcards. There's also a hint of a £5 free no deposit offer, but this seems to be now just £1. However there are free bingo games taking place until the 19th May if you're interested.
One aspect of the advert that is interesting is that Daily Express have opted to address the site as 'games' rather than just punt for the 'bingo' audience. This can sometimes backfire as some players prefer not to be swamped with casino and slots, whilst slots players may well prefer a traditional casino site.
Overall though it's nice to see Daily Express having another try at online gaming. They're well behind the likes of The Sun and The Mirror so this campaign could help them close the gap.
