Hubby Removal Service

Paddy Power Bingo
Paddy Power Bingo have launched a new advertising campaign. For the first time they've decided to follow a similar format used by the betting arm of the brand and respond to "requests" from players on their Facebook page. In this case Sian Davies tells Paddy that the girls are coming round for a chat and the hubby is in the way!
The result is that Paddy Power Bingo send in their Hubby Removal service. It's a brutal service which sees the bingo blocking hubby tied up with gaffer tape and then ejected from his favourite seat. He's finally dummped into a PPB Van where he joins other poor guys.
As with all Paddy Power adverts of this ilk it's fun, although we do think it's a little bit flawed. Firstly the easiest way to get a guy to leave the ladies to have a girly chat is have a girly chat around him. Blokes like nothing less than being stuck in a conversation that may involve anything remotely girly - add a few comments about child birth and they'll be off out of there quicker than Usain Bolt. However, if that fails give the guy a tenner and send him off to the pub.
On the other hand the advert is design to promote the Paddy Power Bingo mobile app. Now if the idea of mobile bingo is that you can play on the move, why doesn't Sian just go out to the park or cafe with said friends and enjoy a chat plus bingo there? This surely is a much more sensible option. Calling in a Hubby Removal Service is a tad extreme and may result in divorce. We're surprised Paddy doesn't actually mention this in their ad!
Seriously though it's nice to see a better ad from Paddy Power Bingo - and one that ties their branding together in a more pleasing way... let's just hope that Hubby Removal services don't catch on.
