Yesterday we told you about Foxy Bingo's great new look. As part of this massive transformation there's also a brand new advertising campaign. As expected it's a song and dance number. It features Foxy and friends dancing their way round Brighton Pier as well as taking in a few rides at the fairground.
The new advert starts off on a rainy day but things soon start to brighten up when new look Foxy appears on the scene. The weather clears up and the fox is joined by a gang of bright looking dancers to shimmy on down the pier. It's all very West Side Story and we'd have loved to have seen a Jackpotjoy gang of bingo players coming the other way! Instead we have to make do with seeing Foxy's dancers enjoying themselves on the carousel and roller coaster. The fun ends by reminding players they can get £5 free when they join.
We think that the new Foxy advert fits in very well the new look site. It's cooler, slicker, cleaner and a bit more up market. The choice of soundtrack is a marked change for Foxy too. Out goes the disco tunes of the past and incomes a more music theatre approach. Ironic at a time when Foxy's rivals are busy with the 80s back catalogue. The track used in the advert is Get Happy which was made famous by Judy Garland in the movie Summer Stock. We're not sure who covers the tune in the Foxy ad but it's been given a modern remix!
The choice of song is intriguing. It's very much a song about God and religion and yet Foxy has managed to convert it so that the "promised land" is no doubt the bingo lobby and slots of Foxy Bingo. Essentially if you're feeling down then you can wash all your troubles away with them. We do have to wonder however whether the marketing guys would have preferred to use Happy by Pharrell for this campaign but weren't able to get hold of it! Or whether the "Get Happy" choice is to get one over Gala Bingo who invite their players to "Play Happy".
To coincide with the new campaign Foxy Bingo are using the #nonstopfun tag on social media. In our view these things just never seem to work though but it'll be interesting to see how the public respond. We think it's pretty cool and look forward to seeing more from the stylish new Foxy during 2015.
