City Bingo Review
City Bingo has been part of the online bingo landscape for several years now. It launched in January 2011 and followed Costa and Sing into the Mandalay Media/Ignite camp. Although it was another Dragonfish powered site it quickly established itself with it's uniqueness by changing the site's theme every month. The theme is always a different city and the prizes and promotions reflected the destination. Although the premise of City remains the same it has undergone changes. CityCat, the brand's loveable mascot has gone and the are fewer prize games. However City still remains a decent destination for bingo and slot players.
Introducing City Bingo
The City Bingo site is a mix of old and new. Each month the look of the site would change depending upon the destination. For example if Paris was chosen then the site would have images related to France. When sister brands Sing, Fancy and Costa all had a makeover sadly City didn't. The UKGC's intervention in online gambling also meant CityCat's presence was at an end. These days the site is dominated by a colourful map and indicators showing the current destination. In our view a makeover is long over due.
City Bingo Welcome Offer
New players to City Bingo used to receive a no deposit bonus. This ended in January 2018 and in June of that year the welcome offer radically changed. Players were offered bingo tickets for selected games on first deposit. Whilst that offer remains on sister sites, City has gone back to the more traditional bonus. Regiser, login and deposit £10 to receive a 300% welcome bonus. Additionally you will also receive 30 free spins on selected slots (Viva Italia, Café de Paris and Caravan to Cairo). Wins from these spins are paid as cash and incur no wagering requirements. Wagering terms apply to the bonus and these are x4 bonus + deposit.
If you'd like to try City Bingo before depositing then sign up for The Bingo Academy. This is a free bingo room that's open for two days after registration and/or five days after your first deposit. Every 15 minutes you can play a 90 ball real cash game. Play for 25p for 1L, 50p for 2L and £1 for the full house. It's not exactly big money but it does give you a flavour of what to expect. Other Dragonfish free bingo rooms focus on 75 ball bingo which is odd when 90 ball is the main game. Note that withdrawal terms apply so you will need to deposit before you can take out winnings.
City Bingo Promotions
As with all Dragonfish powered sites, once you login to City Bingo there's a mix of 75 ball, 5 Line 75 ball and 90 ball bingo rooms. These include Fortune Park, Eiffel Tower, London Eye and Windfall Lane. Ticket prices are usually in the 1p to 5p range so perfect for bargain hunters. These rooms have recently been joined by the 52 playing card game - Bingo Vegas. Free bingo is available for depositors plus there are daily jackpots too. These include a free Main Attraction £250 game every Sunday and a chance to win 100 slot spins on a Tuesday.
One thing we really liked about City Bingo was that it had prize games. Over the years they've given aways gadgets, vouchers and even holidays. There are still prize games running but not on the same scale. City Souvenirs plays every Wednesday, Cinema In The City every Saturday and Irish Delights every Monday. These games all cost 1p a ticket to play and eyes down is at 10pm. City also offers reload bonuses! Deposit and qualify for a Break The Bank game every day for 6 days. This game offers the chance to win bingo tickets and free spins.
As well as the bingo you'll find the usual suite of Dragonfish slots to try. Loyalty points are also available everytime you deposit and wager at City Bingo. The main reward is paid in 'Diamonds' which can be used to get free spins, bonuses and even cash depending on your VIP status. To get more Diamonds look out for the monthly 'Guess The City' competition. Every month City invite you to guess which destination will feature next. Everyone who gets the answer correct shares in 250,000 diamonds.
Although City Bingo does look a little bit dated and some features have changed, it's a site that's still worth a look. We love the monthly changing theme but feel it needs to be improved a little more. That said there's plenty of free bingo, cheap games, reloads and more to keep most players happy. The welcome bonus is generous and the wagering terms on the bingo reasonable. We especially like the no wagering aspect on the free spins. Bring back CityCat and we'd be even happier.
