Scary Bingo Review
Scary Bingo became the latest addition to the growing 888 stable when it launched around Halloween in 2015. It followed sister sites such as Bingo Ballroom, Daisy and T-Rex onto the Dragonfish Network. Around this time they were piling out bingo brands themed around movies and events. Naturally Scary's theme is perfect for Halloween but is it full of tricks or treats?
Introducing Scary Bingo
Scary Bingo has quite a cool theme and it'd be cooler if The UKGC hadn't sucked the fun out of online bingo characters. Thankfully there are still a few remnants on the homepage to indicate Halloween, witches and things that go bump in the night. To be honest we think it does all look a bit dated especially when compared to the mobile responsive newer brands like Bounce, Tickety and Sailor. However you can play Scary Bingo on mobile and tablet and no app is required.
Scary Bingo Welcome Offer
New players to Scary Bingo can treat themselves to a 300% welcome bonus on a first deposit of £5 or more. The bonus is split between bingo and games - so that's a £15 bonus for each if you decided to fund your account with £10. Wagering terms apply with a x4 condition on the bingo but a x80 one on the games side. It should also be noted that some games such as Blackjack will not contribute anything to the wagering condition requirements.
New players at Scary Bingo can enjoy some no deposit bingo. Register and login to access the Daily Doozey for three days after joining. Inside this free bingo room you'll be able to play 75 ball games for the chance to win bonus prizes. These bonuses will attract wagering terms. Other free bingo rooms are available but you'll need to be a regular depositor to qualify for these particular games. Free bingo rooms include Quids In, On The House and Freebie.
Scary Bingo Promotions
If you dare step inside Scary Bingo then you'll find nothing particularly frightening. This is a Dragonfish Network site so expect to find 90 ball and 75 ball rooms. These are joined by Suits You, a 52 ball playing card game, and a 52 ball bingo roulette game. Additionally there are daily jackpot games plus a couple of free games including the £250 Sunday Sizzle and £1000 Magical Monday. The biggest game takes place at 10pm on the 10th of every month and is called The Big £10K. This is an invite only game where everyone's a winner!
Promotions wise though there's nothing that you won't find on other Dragonfish brands and that's a disappointment. Of course we love the Wow Room where you can win slot spins and The Big £10000 but Scary, like Daisy, BBQ, Beatle and others hasn't anything extra to carry it above and beyond. At least slot players won't be disappointed as they will find popular games such as Fluffy Favourites, Irish Luck, Millionaire Genie and Cleopatra available to play within the lobby area. Most of the slots are also accessible on mobile.
Scary Bingo looks great but we do wonder whether it's a one trick pony with it's Halloween theme? As is it's shelf life seems quite limited to just one time of the year (October) but beyond that what then? We think the brand needs to look at zombie/horror themed slots, offer 'scary' prizes and concentrate on keeping the Halloween party going all year long.
There are some positives! The no deposit free bingo trial for new players is always good plus we like the £5 minimum deposit to claim the welcome offer. A lot of sites now require a minimum deposit AND wager of at least £10. The slots and bingo options are good too, although these are available on other Dragonfish brands. As long as you don't expect anything exclusive to arrive then Scary Bingo offers more treats than tricks.
