Gala Bingo Launch The £100K Big Bingo Game

At the start of November we told you that Tombola had created a £239,168 full house winner with their Britain's Biggest Bingo Game. This monthly promotion is back for another outing although with just a week or so to go until eyes down the prize pot is advertised as £120,000. That's still an impressive amount but still some way off the first game's figure. We wonder how much influence the Free Fivers promotion and/or curiousity came into play with respect to the original game. The fact that there's just a full house prize with no 1L or 2L jackpots did seem to disappoint some players judging by comments left on social media. The popularity of the big money game and observations about the format may also have had an influence on other platforms as Entain, who run Foxy, Gala, Coral and Ladbrokes, will be now hosting a £100K Bingo Game on the 2nd of every month.

The £100K Big Bingo Game

Depending upon which site you visit the name of the £100K varies but it's still the same game. At Coral it's The Champions £100K whilst over at Foxy it's The Bingo Biggie. Gala are going with The Big Bingo Game, Ladbrokes have chosen The £100K Bingo Boost and Cheeky are playing it simple with £100K Bingo. This game is currently advertised as playing at 9pm on the 2nd of every month. It's a 90 ball game where tickets cost 10p each although if you purchase five then you get one free. Pre-buy is available and it's a maximum of 120 cards per player. You may also be able to get free tickets for the £100K game by playing free games such as Wag N Win over at Foxy. One of the big criticisms of the Tombola game is that the full house winner takes all and that there are no other prizes on offer. Entain look like they have considered this with their prize breakdown.

£50,000 Full House

If you're the full house winner of The Big Bingo Game then you could win up to £50,000 guaranteed. If there are multiple winners then the prize is shared but if you're the only winner then you're £50K better off. Before that happens though there's good news for 1L and 2L winners as they have pots of £10,000 and £20,000 waiting to be won. But the prizes don't stop there! If you end the game frustratingly on 1TG then you'll pick up a share of £10,000. That means plenty more winners and yet Entain aren't done yet because they've also made their big cash game a roll on one. This means that once the full house has been called the numbers will keep on coming until a further five full house winners are created. These winners will win £2000. Whilst the top prize of £50K may not be able to match the £100K+ of Tombola we do think the prize distribution is a lot more attractive. The big question is whether players agree and respond favourably to this new game. At time of writing just over 5000 players had purchased tickets across all sites but that's a drop in the ocean compared to the 171178 who took part in Tombola's first game.

The Return Of Big Money Bingo?

So is this the start of some big money bingo wars between various platforms? We hope so because our favourite numbers game has pretty much been in the doldrums for the last few years and needs a bit of a boost. Whilst Tombola have done amazing things we do want to see other brands being more competitive for players. With William Hill seemingly putting the game into the Vegas back burner, Paddy Power and Betfair treating bingo affiliates like trash and Broadway Gaming doing away with daily jackpots there's not been too much to cheer about in 2022. If Tombola's Britain's Biggest Bingo and Gala's Big Bingo Game capture the interest of players thn that's great news. It might also perk up intrigue at the likes of Broadway Gaming (Dragonfish), Pragmatic Play and Virtue Fusion. No doubt the bean counters will keep a close eye on the numbers to make sure enough players are taking part to make the game worthwhile for Entain. If it doesn't work out and is shuffled off into the ether after a month or two then that could spell another rocky road for bingo in 2023. In short if 10p for the chance to win £50,000 doesn't spark interest then it's hard to see what actually will.
