Play Clover Rollover Bingo - Play 50 Ball Bingo

Published On 12th March 2024

New bingo rooms are like new bingo sites in that they're becoming something of a rarity. However this year (2023) we have seen some new additions including Loose Women Bingo at Mecca, The Money Drop Bingo at Buzz and and Bingo40 at Tombola. Joining them - at least we think it's new as it's a room we've not spotted before - is a 50 ball room over at Sky Bingo. It's called Clover Rollover Bingo and is themed on the popular slot of the same name (obviously without the bingo). It's a multistake game that allows you to collect coins that can be used to convert into rewards. But is it any good? We decided to take a closer look.

A First Look At Clover Rollover Bingo

Clover Rollover, like Big Top Tombola, has been part of the Virtue Fusion/Playtech bingo set-up since we can remember. It's an Irish themed slot in a similar vein to Rainbow Riches. However whilst the latter has developed and spawned many more games Clover Rollover hasn't really changed. And this shows in the style of the bingo room that looks a little tired. The rolling hills of The Emerald Isle provide a pleasent backdrop for your bingo ticket whilst a nice Irish jig greets you, but it's a chalk and cheese scenario when you compare the graphic quality of say Tombola vs everyone else. Still we suspect players don't worry too much about these things and are more interested in what the game offers. We just wish that Playtech would invest some money in improving their bingo rooms and graphics.

How To Play Clover Rollover Bingo

When you first visit the Clover Rollover Bingo room you're invited to purchase a ticket. This is a multistakes game and this means all players have one ticket each. However players can choose to wager 25p, 50p, 75p or £1 on the game. Everyone though plays the same game but the prizes reflect the initial wager. The more you wager the bigger the jackpots. The Clover Rollover bingo ticket comprises 10 numbers and the aim of the game is to get a full house before the other roomies. It's a 50 ball game so play tends to be pretty quick. You can choose to watch the bingo numbers be called or by clicking the tab at the top of the screen watch them appear in a larger grid. Why anyone would ever choose the big grid is a mystery because it's pretty boring to watch.

Clover Rollover Bingo Features

This game has two main features. Firstly there's a Clover Multiplier Jackpot. This is worth x50 your initial stake and is awarded if you manage to call house in 25 calls or less. The other main feature of the game is called Clover Collect and this is where you can earn rewards for game play. During any bingo game you might be awarded hats, real ale, shamrocks or gold pots depending upon the stake you've chosen to wager. Once you've accumulated 250 of the same icon then you'll receive a reward of 50p, £1, £1.50 or £2. This all sounds great until you realise the number of games that you're going to need to play in order to get a reward. Note also that the rewards only apply to the wagering amount. So if you play 25p and earn 10 hats then decide to play 50p you'll start with 0 real ales. In other words it's probably best to stick to one wagering amount.

Our Verdict

If this is a brand new bingo room then we're happy to see it. That's probably the most positive we can be about it. This room has similar issues to other slot branded bingo in that it has very little to do with the slot. There's no opportunities to win spins or interact with the game in some interesting way. We guess Slingo does these things a lot better. The Clover Multiplier Jackpot is fine but we're less keen on the Clover Collect feature. Assuming that a player gets two coins per bingo game (and there's no guarantee of getting any) then that's 125 x £1 wagers to receive a £2 bonus. In cashback terms that's 1.6% or play 125 games get 2 free. We wonder how many players actually reach these reward levels. Call us old fashioned but we'd rather see more money in the prize pot or perhaps rewards of 5 free slot spins at shorter intervals to make it feel like they're actual rewards. Currently Clover Rollover Bingo seems to be exclusive to Sky Bingo but we'd not be surpised to see it on the likes of Paddy Power and Betfair in the future.
