These days, movies are popular choices for slot games. We recently reviewed Top Gun, but there's also Batman, Gladiator, Fantastic Four, Life Of Brian and many more. However one film that you'd probably not associate with slots is the Jim Carrey film, Ace Venture - Pet Detective. But guess what? Yes it is an actual slot game!
Ace Ventura - Pet Detective slots from Playtech is a 5 reel slot that offers players 243 ways to win. It features shots of the movie - which mostly involve pictures of Carrey - alongside bonuses, wilds, jacks, aces etc. The game is accompanied with a gentle soundtrack and a few jungle noises. You may also hear a few Ace Ventura quips for example when you get a big win.
Bonus Features
The slot has a bonus round and this comes into play when three bonus rhinos appear on win lines. If you get to a bonus round then you can use animal modifiers (which you collect during the main game) to combine them in free games for potentially big wins. The modifiers include extra free games, expanded reels, symbol upgrade and random wilds. Look out too for in reel features that can be activated at any time. Jungle Friends will see Ace summon his creature mates to give you extra wilds whilst Sneaky Walk will see Ace add more wilds to your reels. With Loser you can respin to increase your chances of winning.
The Verdict
Ace Ventura slots is good fun, even if you're not familiar with the film. If you're not a fan of Jim Carrey though you may want to avoid it. For everyone else there's plenty to enjoy. We'd have loved to have hit either the bonus round or seen the reel features in action during our trial play.
