Jackpot Raiders Slot Review
We suspect that slot game developers may well have been to an Indiana Jones conference lately. In recent months we've seen the arrival of Vicky Ventura, Lara Croft Temples and Tombs and The Legacy Of Ra Megaways. Joining these archeological tomb busting treasure hunting games is Yggdrasil's latest offering called Jackpot Raiders.
Jackpot Raiders is a 20 payline 5 reel slot that features the explorers Bear and Sam. They are your guides that could take you to 1 of 5 progressive jackpots (Forgotten, Rare, Mythical, Ancient and Legendary). At time of writing these jackpots ranged from £180 up to just under £18,000. The slot itself is well designed with the reels set within a cabin of a ship. Diving suits, a sharks head, gloves, whips and other artefacts nod towards the theme of the game.
How To Play Jackpot Raiders
On the reels you'll find our heroes, Bear and Sam, alongside hats and backpacks to make up the high paying symbols. Sam, the younger character, will pay out x4000 for five on a win line whilst the older Bear will reward you with x2000. The low paying symbols consist of playing card icons of heart, diamonds, spades and clubs. Unusually for a slot there are no wilds!
Wagering on Jackpot Raiders starts at just 10p a spin. However this can be adjusted upwards using the coin value per line to a maximum wager of £40 (Casumo). This maximum may vary depending where you play. At Autoplay facility allows you to spin between 10 to 100 turns in increments of 10. Dig deeper into the slot and you will find options to stop autoplay based on wins/losses and features.
Like a number of Yggdrasil slots, Jackpot Raiders has quite an extensive bonus section. To win 1 of the 5 jackpots you need to collect five identical gems (like Thanos in The Avengers but without the urge to bump off half a world). These gems can only be collected within the free spins round - and Yggdrasil offer three routes to this bonus!
Firstly three or more scatter symbols to activate the compasss and win a minimum of 10 free spins. You can also collect five identical maps (pieces of which appear randomly on the reels) to earn 10 free spins and automatically receive one jackpot gem. Finally find the compass in the scatter 'Pick & Click' game, activated when three or more trunks appear on the reels, to get 10 free spins.
But that's not all! Activating the compass can lead you to free spins as mentioned above or it can take you into a Treasure Hunt bonus round. In this bonus round you select either Bear or Sam to take a journey to locate a chest. The character you choose and the route determines rewards based on risk. For example Bear is likely to succeed but the rewards will be smaller.
The chests can contain maps and relics that come into play when trying to win the jackpot. Collect enough relics by the way and you win Sunken City Free Spins. This gives you 10 free spins plus 1 jackpot gem to start you off. Wins from these spins are paid at x10 multiplier. Other free spin wins are paid at x3!
Hopefully you've got all that because Yggdrasil to like to pack a lot into their games. Jackpot Raiders is no different. It has amazing graphics, a fitting soundtrack (which sounds like a slowed down version of Little Donkey), and is thoroughly absorbing. The visuals on the Treasure Hunt Bonus round makes other slots look poor in comparison.
Jackpot Raiders has a Return To Player of 96.3% which makes it medium variance. We found wins were consistent although only caught one bonus round - Pick & Click - during our trial play. In addition only one piece of map materialised during several hundred spins. Whilst the slot can't be faulted for looks, story and depth - it may take you a while to complete the adventure.
