Monopoly Live Review
Monopoly has lent itself to a multitude of online gambling games including slingo, slots, scratchcards and even roulette. In 2019 the popular board game entered a new sphere with the launch of Monopoly Live by Evolution Gaming. Combining a money wheel game, along the lines of Dream Catcher, with a 3D bonus round has led to awards. Namely EGR's Game of the Year 2019 and Gaming Intelligence’s Game of the Year 2020.
Monopoly Live is a casino game show takes place in a studio with a live presenter. In the middle of the studio is a large prize wheel with various numbered segments. A virtual Mr Moneybags sits on a chair to the right of the wheel whilst a virtual Monopoly world can be seen through the windows. The host spins the wheel and provides commentary throughout proceedings whilst interacting with guests via chat. The action is relentless with a new spin of the wheel taking place every couple of minutes.
How To Play Monopoly Live
Playing Monopoly Live is really simple. All you have to do is place a wager on the numbers where you believe the prize wheel will stop after it has been spun by the presenter. You can place bets on 1, 2, 5, 10, x2 rolls bonus game and x4 rolls bonus game. The amount you can wager varies from 10p up to £1000. You can bet on all outcomes plus there's an option to double your wager. Once you've placed your bets the wheel spins and if you match the result then you win x1, x2, x5 or x10 the wager.
The game takes up the Monopoly theme if the bonus rolls come up on the prize wheel. Mr Moneybags takes you into his 3D world where a Monopoly board can be seen. A roll of the dice moves him around the board to accumulate multipliers and a bonus round win for you. A two roll bonus gives you two moves on the board whilst a four roll offers four. Rules of the board game apply so doubles result in an extra roll whilst chance and community chest are also active.
Take A Chance
There are also two 'Chance' segments on the prize wheel spin. If the wheel stops on either of these segments then Mr Moneybags will reveal a card. This card will reveal a cash prize or a multipler. If it's the latter then the wheel is respun to determine a winning number, a bonus round or even 'Chance' again. As an example of how Chance works: if Mr Moneybags reveals a x8 multiplier and the wheel then stops on 1 on the next spin then players betting on 1 win a x8 prize.
Monopoly Live is a game of luck but is there a strategy worth considering? We're not so sure! The numbers from previous turns are shown on the game section and this gives you an idea of how frequent some numbers appear versus others. For example at time of writing over 50% of results were the 1. The bonus round made just one appearence whilst Chance a couple of times. The bigger multipliers only cropped up occasionally. For big wins then you really need to wager on the x4 bonus round and hope!
Monopoly Live is one of the most popular game shows provided by Evolution Gaming. At time of writing more people were playing this game compared to Mega Ball, Lightning Dice and Dream Catcher combined. Only Lightnining Roulette attracts a bigger audience. If you enjoy prize wheel games such as Dream Catcher then Monopoly Live enhances the experience. It's nice to have a presenter hosting proceedings and the interactivity with players breaks the monotony that can arise on other games.
The Monopoly aspect of the game is a lot of fun and the graphics, especially during the bonus round, are excellent. It's most certainly one of the better Monopoly casino games. We like that you can enjoy the fun of Monopoly Live with wagers of just 10p. However do be aware the games come thick and fast so do keep an eye on what you're spending, especially if doing multiple bets or choosing to double your wager. Monopoly Live can be found at a wide number of popular online casinos including Virgin Games, Unibet, 32Red, Casumo and LeoVegas.
