Deal Or No Deal Rapid Round Slot Review
It's been several years since Noel Edmunds put away his many red boxes, but the legend of Deal Or No Deal lives on in the slots world. This is because the idea of selecting a box and trying to beat The Banker works extremely well in bonus rounds. So joining the ever expanding list of Deal themed games is Rapid Round. It's from Playzido and features The Banker's bonus round as well as stacked wilds.
Rapid Round slots is a 10 payline 5 reel slot that pays from right to left as well as left to right. When you first open the game you're greeted with five huge reels with evidence of the Deal studio in the background. Three DOND red boxes sit just below reels 2, 3 and 4. On the reels are various Deal symbols such as a branded mug and bowler hat plus a golden box. Other symbols are made up of traditional fruit machine symbols such as Lucky 7s, melons, lemons, grapes and cherries.
How To Play Rapid Round
Wagering on Rapid Round starts at 10p but this can be increased up to £200. Click on the $ button at the top right of the slot to change the wager. Other options are 20p, 40p, 80p, £1, £2 and £4. Use the left/right arrows to find the higher wagering amounts. An autoplay option which allows you to set total spins - up to 100 spins - and loss limits - up to any amount -is available. You can also set autoplay to stop if a single win exceeds a certain amount. Other options including turning off the music and switching on turbo mode are available via the options on the left.
To play Rapid Round you simply need to select your wager and spin the reels. The top paying symbol is the golden box that will pay x250 for five of a kind on a winning line. The bowler hat and Lucky 7 are the next highest paying symbols. The fruits will pay between x25 and x50 for five on a winning line. As mentioned above win lines pay both ways! Occasionally one, two or all three of the red Deal boxes below reels 2, 3 and 4 will open and explode stacked wilds on to the reels. These can stay open and show wilds for additional turns.
The Banker Bonus Round
No Deal Or No Deal slots game can be without some kind of nod to The Banker and in Rapid Round he pops up in the bonus round. Get a telephone symbol on reels 1 and 5 to activate the bonus. Initially you'll be offered three red boxes and invited to select one to determine how many free spins you'll be awarded alongside a win multiplier. For example when we played we were awarded 12 spins with a x2 multiplier. After a box has been selected The Banker will make a cash offer for your spins and multiplier. It's then up to you to decide to deal or no deal.
The Bonus Round doesn't come up that often. It's teased numerous times and in our trial play the phone symbol landed 14 times on reel 1 but only once did we match the symbol on reel 5. The bonus round itself is a speedy version of Deal and this is where Rapid Round derives it's name. Is it worth taking the deal? Unfortunately we don't know because we only played the bonus round once. The Banker offered us a x27 cash prize which was rejected. After 12 spins with a x2 multiplier the result was a x49 win so in our case turning down The Banker was a good move.
If you do take the cash prize then you'll be returned to the base game. This means that you won't know whether playing the free spins would have been the right or wrong choice! Overall we quite like Rapid Round and think it's an exciting addition to the Deal stable. We like that it combines a classic fruit machine with the popular box picking game. It just goes to show developers can produce games without resorting to fluffy creatures.
Rapid Round has a 95.48% Return To Player (RTP) and is available to play at various Playtech brands including Mecca and Buzz Bingo.
