Fortuna The Dragon Slot Review
Long before Daenerys Targaryen flew into battle in Games of Thrones the only dragon action was at Jackpotjoy. They launched Fortuna the Dragon as a brand new 3D slots game. At first glance it appears to be a fairly samey 25 line 5 reel slot game. But hold on a moment as this one is fiery and if you're a fan of dragons and mystical creatures, you might want to take a closer look.
Fortuna The Dragon is set on a non descript grassy knoll. The main graphics, which include the usual Jacks, Queens, Kings card symbols are accompanied by dragons, are pleasing but the game really comes into it's own with the 3D Graphics. The good news is that you don't need to wear 3D Glasses to enjoy the visuals. By the way each spin is accompanied by some lute type Medieval music which is the most annoying element of the game.
Wagering on Fortuna starts at 1p per spin. Adjust the number of paylines from 1 to 25 or coins (1p to £8) to get up to a maximum £200 per spin. As with many Gamesys powered slots there's no autoplay feature. However, the slot is accessible on all devices so you can enjoy being the mother or father of dragon spins on mobile, tablet and desktop.
The dragons are the top paying symbols with x1000 or x750 being offered for 5 of a kind. In addition wilds will pay out at x1000. A scatter bonus pays out x2 to x50 total bet depending on the number that appear on the reels. To get x50 you'll need five on the reels. Note that there's no free spins bonus round or feature activated when the scatter symbols appear.
Instead, the main feature of the slot is that Fortuna - well mainly it's backside - can appear at random any time after a paying game. Just don't expect to see him or her too often. When Fortuna does make an appearence the player is rewarded with 1 of 4 bonus games. The bonus games are 5 free spins with a variation on a theme (e.g. wilds, multipliers or high paying dragons). Perhaps we were unlucky but whilst playing Fortuna we found very little winnings. When we played the dragon appeared just twice in over 60 spins and well didn't exactly strike gold.
Disappointing rewards aside, the graphics at this stage are pretty good - even considering the slot has been online almost 10 years now.The bonus games are Dragon Love, Fortuna Fortunes, Wild Fire and Wild Fire Reels. The Return To Player (RTP) is 94.33% which makes this game a low/medium variance. If you've not tried the game before then a demo mode is available at Jackpotjoy - but you do need to be logged in.
Despite it's age Fortuna The Dragon remains visually lovely. The dragons are cute and the effects really good. The music isn't particular enticing and it's best to mute it. The bonus games are frustrating and a reward of just 5 spins doesn't feel particular good these days. However Fortuna has stood the test of time and been in the Jackpotjoy roster for almost 10 years. It's not quite Game Of Thrones but at least this slot has more dragons than the GoT official game!
