Rehab Bingo are about to change hands according to an email we've received this morning. As of the 21st January 2014, "Rehab Bingo is transitioning ownership of operations from Raglan Investments to Broadway gaming". This means that Rehab will be joining the same camp as Butlers and Glossy!

The current Rehab Bingo set up uses the Virtue Fusion software whilst Glossy and Butlers favour the Microgaming system. At the moment it's unclear whether this transitioning will mean a change of platform for Rehab or whether it's business as usual. So far there's nothing on the website or social media pages about the change - so our guess is that the site will continue as it is for now.

Rehab Bingo launched in Ireland in 2005 to raise charitable funds for the Rehab Group "who provide training, employment, health and social care services to people with disabilities and those who are socially marginalised". A UK version of the site opened a few years later but in a competitive market it's not managed to push it's way to the fore. The arrival of X Factor's Mary Byrne as the face of the site did little to raise it's profile.

It'd be a surprise if the charitable aspects of the site are lost with the change of ownership. We anticipate that the use of the Rehab name will mean an ongoing relationship with The Rehab Group and development of the brand in both Ireland and The UK. We hope that Rehab do stay on Virtue Fusion mainly because we're not the biggest fans of the Microgaming set up - but then if it helps raise more funds then that's at least some good news.

It's also good news for Broadway Gaming who are building on their success of Butler's Bingo. They built and developed that brand before adding Glossy to their mix last year. This is a more measured approach compared to that of 8 Ball Games who are launching sites left, right and centre across multiple networks. Rehab should be in good hands and we hope it goes on to bigger and better things in the bingo world, as well as adding more funds to a worthy cause.

If we get any further information about the changes at Rehab then we'll let you know.
