Slingo launched in 2015 with a predominantly slots slant although it's headline game had a bingo theme. Slingo is a mix of slots and bingo - and up until now has been a one player game. However this week a new version of the game has been launched. It's called Slingo Boom and it's described as "a new way to play bingo".
Slingo Boom is a multiplayer version of the original Slingo game. The aim of the game is to match the numbers on the reel with the numbers on your grid. If you're the first player to cover all the numbers then you win the pot. Like 90 ball games there are three prizes to be won - for one line, two lines and the full house.
We had hoped to give Slingo Boom a play before writing this article, but we hit some issues with depositing. If set your daily deposit level at £10, then opt to pay by mobile but decide not to proceed, the Slingo system still assumes you've deposited and met your daily limit. We like fail safes but in this case there's evidently a bug in the system.
Apparently there are free games to play if you're a depositing player. In fact we were told that "Slingo Boom is available via the Slingo website and is free to play between 6am and 10pm each day". If you do find the free games then you should note that winnings are subject to x8 wagering before withdrawing and there's no deposit required.
Whilst Slingo is a new way to play bingo we wonder whether it will grab players attention above the traditional 75 and 90 ball games. Hopefully it won't follow a similar pathway to sister site, Spin Genie who recently ventured into multiplayer bingo territory. They recently closed their rooms in order to revamp things. Perhaps they're going to add Slingo Boom instead?
If you give Slingo Boom a try do let us know how you get on!
