We've freely admitted that when The Free Postcode Lottery launched a few years back that we were very sceptical about it. Having seen other sites dish out free money on a daily basis and fail, a new kid on the block trying the same thing seemed too good to be true. Fast forward to 2016 and The Free Postcode Lottery is an incredible success earning plaudits from many quarters.
However the people behind the site aren't resting on their laurels and are about to launch a new chance for people to win. Having made a bit of a boo boo with The Free Postcode Lottery we thought we'd jump in and have a look at the new site as it's due to launch next week. It's called the Freemoji Lottery and it works pretty much like it's bigger sister.
Instead of using your postcode to enter you select a combination of five emojis. This entry is entered into a daily prize draw and you need to visit the site daily to check if you're a winner. At present there's no indication of how much you can win, but we suspect the prize will be reasonable as it'll have plenty of players who already take part in The FPL.
One advantage of the Freemoji Lottery over The FPL is that entries are exclusive. This means that no two players will have the same emoji combinations. In short there will be no sharing of the prize should your emoji name get pulled from the hat.
Where Are The Prizes Coming From
As with The FPL, and the countless other similar free lottery sites that have mushroomed up recently, the prizes will be funded by advertising. For the most part we expect that these will be Google Ads and Surveys. We've always wondered what would happen if Google decided to pull ads from these kind of sites - but it would seem The FPL (and therefore Freemoji Lottery) have this in hand through other offers.
Being a sister site of The FPL doesn't guarantee success though! Birthday Bingo for example, a lottery based on your birth date, failed to make a mark and folded. It'll be interesting to see how Freemoji Lottery fairs. From what we've seen none of the other wannabe brands have been as successful as The FPL.
Get Ready To Play
Still we're not going to write the Freemoji Lottery off as too good to be true as we did with The FPL. The giveaways should start by the 12th August so sign up and get ready to play!
As ever we're interested in hearing what you think about free lottery sites. Are they good? Will they last? Are there now too many? Drop us a line or send us a message via social media with your comments.
