More No Deposit Bingo Offers Get Frozen Out
Added On 7th February 2017
Back in December we posed the question "is this the beginning of the end of free bingo". The reason for the question was that Foxy Bingo had decided to pull their £5 no deposit bonus offer for new players. Well, today there's further bad news for free bingo hunters with more sites deciding to can their freebie welcome offers.
As of the 13th February 2017, a bunch of Ignite brands will no longer offer players a £5 no deposit bonus. These sites will be Angry, Bingola, Giant, Dino, Sparkly, Frozen, Farmyard, Season and Crocodile. On the flipside it does mean that the likes of Fancy, Costa, Sing, Treasure, Wish and City will continue with their freebies.
This move could be to do with the impending changes on bonus taxes which operators will have to absorb later in the year. If this is the case then we suspect that the remaining Ignite brands will follow suit sometime down the line. However, it could also be a move by Ignite to reduce the profile of some of their least successful brands.
It's no coincidence to us that most of the brands listed rarely have any extra promotions beyond the mainstays each month. The only exception is Season and we think that's in the mix because it was - to excuse the pun - a one season wonder. Surprisingly though Deep Sea and Sweet Shop, the two brands Ignite exploded on to the Dragonfish Network rather their own, aren't included either. Kingdom Of Bingo also escapes the no deposit cull.
For bingo players who are happy to deposit and play, the loss of the no deposit bonus isn't going to be that big a problem. The software platforms available are pretty standard across many sites so once you've tried one Playtech/Dragonfish/Cozy site then you know what to expect at another. However, freebie players may feel that their options are getting more and more limited! At the moment that's not so - there are still plenty of no deposit bonus offers available - for now.
However, we suspect that operators will come up with new ways to incentivise players to register and play at their brands - whilst circumventing any tax issues. Free games, login bonuses, prize draws and free spins could well be among the options available. We could also start seeing more sites like Blighty Bingo where wagering terms on bonuses are removed.
Our advice is simple: if you're a fan of no deposit bingo bonuses then grab them while you can!
