Paddy Power Offers: 20 Risk Free Bet

Wagering terms and conditions will apply

The 62nd Eurovision Song Contest takes place in Kiev on Saturday 13th May. The UK's hopes are pinned on former X Factor singer, Lucie Jones, who's Never Give Up On You track seems slightly ironic given that The UK have given up on The European Union. We wonder if Brexit will result in even less votes for The UK than usual?

Not that it matters because Paddy Power have Lucie as a considerable outsider to win! She's actually at 50/1 which is one of the biggest prices we can recall for a UK entry. Perhaps punters have woken up to the fact that betting on The UK is not a good idea - or perhaps it's not exactly a stand out track. Mind you, 50/1 isn't a bad price if you fancy an outside punt.

Gorilla Suit

Paddy Power have Italy as their 4/6 favourite to win this year. Francesco Gabbani will sing Occidentali's Karma and expect to see a man in a gorilla suit on stage. To be honest we've no idea why this is favourite. Italy haven't won Eurovision since 1990 and we don't expect this losing streak to end in 2017.

One country that has done well at Eurovision is Sweden and they've got a catchy track that could do well. Robin Bengtsson will sing I Can't Go On! It sounds like it should be a Bieber track and may well appeal to the masses. This is an 11/1 shot at Paddy Power and it's the entry we're tipping as the one to watch.

Latest Odds

Look out too for The Netherlands. They've not won since 1975 but they have a strong chance of a top five finish with OG3NE and their song Lights And Shadows. OG3NE are made up of three strong female vocalists and the song is pretty good.

  • Italy - 4/6
  • Portugal - 7/1
  • Sweden - 11/1
  • Bulgaria - 11/1
  • Armenia - 18/1
  • Azerbaijan - 25/1
  • Romania - 25/1
  • Netherlands - 33/1

By the way if you do fancy betting on The UK then you can predict the position that The UK will finish. Lucie Jones is 11/1 to finish in the top 4 and 9/1 to get enough votes to finish 5th to 8th. This year's contest does seem to be very wide open so a punt at 5/1 for 9th to 12th looks an attractive offer.
