The Winter Olympics are taking place in Pyeongchang County, South Korea this month. During our weekly review of all things bingo we were happy to discover links to a Curling Bingo game. Unfortunately each link ended up as a dead end but after a little bit of searching we discovered the game that's sweeping a nation thanks to NBC Olympics.

Curling Bingo is played whilst watching the game. Cross off the "numbers" as events occur during the match. For example "a handshake", "burned rock", "fist pump", "high five", "hog line viloation" and "broom mishap". The first to five in a row wins the game. We're not sure how many games of curling are left to enjoy at The Winter Olympics but these cards should make them a bit more exciting.

Get Ready For Crufts

An event that's already passed is the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. We have to admit that until today we'd never heard of it, but assume that it's a pre-cursor to Crufts. Anyway the folks over at Bravo TV thought the proceedings needed livening up a bit and created their own Bingo Drinking Game.

The cards are pretty cool and they actually could be used when Crufts is televised later this year. The aim - as ever - is to mark off events on your card. Items include dog looks like a mop, dog with a human name, dog breed you'lve never heard of before, stubby tail, dog stops abruptly and dog looks like he's smiling. Crufts runs from the 8th to 11th March so get your cards ready now.

Foxy's Owners Are Fined

The Westminster Kennel Club may have had a good week but the same can't be said for GVC, the owners of Foxy Bingo. GVC have been fined 350,000 for "repeatedly defying a 2016 ruling by the Advertising Standards Authority that adverts for its Bwin website were misleading". A customer complained that they couldn't collect a "free bonus" until they'd wagered 102.

ASA and The UK Gambling Commission are really going to town on online gambling operators. This fine follows those dished out to 888 and last year. Although not bingo related, In-Play betting advertising (as you normally see at half time during live football matches on Sky) will no longer be permitted.

Las Vegas Bingo Winner

Going back to foxes - you'll see how this works - bingo isn't the first gambling game that you'd associate with Las Vegas. However, a local lady has a lot to celebrate according to Fox5 Vegas (there it is). She has won the largest Dual Daub Bingo Jackpot in Las Vegas history. The anonymous winner takes home just over $110,000!

The winner no doubt received plenty of hugs after her historic win. And hugs are where we end this round-up. According to a report on Wand TV, bingo players at Clark Lindsey, Illinois, play a special version of the game. Players have to "hug things like neighbours, animals and trees" - the perfect way to help relieve a few stresses in life.

The report on the Wand TV website is fairly short, but there's a two minute video clip that explains Hug Bingo. We wonder whether Gala or Mecca will introduce it to their club nights?
