McDonald’s popular Monopoly promotion makes it’s annual return on 6th September 2024. The website is already live and that means we have an early insight into what you can expect and the many prizes that are on offer. This year’s Monopoly prize draw has been dubbed “Power Peel” with McDonald’s stating that is the “same game you know and love, with peels on pack and in app. Peel on pack, make moves in app”. There are also extra features to look out for including Mayfair Monday, Mr Monopoly Bonus Reward and Bank or Swap Peel. By getting involved you could potentially win yourself £100,000 cash, a Mini Electric Car, £200 Jet2Holiday and many other prizes. In addition there’s also thousands of McDonald’s food prizes to be claimed.
How To Play McDonald’s Monopoly
To play McDonald’s Monopoly you need to purchase promotional items from the menu. The items include Philly Cheese Stack, Chicken Big Mac®, McPlant®, McCrispy®, McSpicy®, Chicken Selects® 3 or 5 Pieces, Mozzarella Dippers, Any Big Flavour Wrap, Chicken & Bacon Salad or Chicken Salad, Medium or Large Fries, Medium or Large Milkshake, Medium or Large Carbonated Soft Drink, Any item from the McCafé® Iced range, Galaxy® Chocolate McFlurry® and Twix® McFlurry®. The full list of qualifying items can be found on the website. Items can be purchased in restaurant or via delivery services such as Deliveroo and Just Eat. When you purchase these items you should find a sticker on the packaging. You need to peel the sticker to reveal a Monopoly location or an Instant Win prize. Every Monopoly location that you log in to your wallet, via the McDonald’s app, gives you an extra digital peel and that potentially offers another chance to win. Property codes entered via the app will also count towards unlocking 1,500 MyMcDonald’s Rewards points.
How To Win McDonald’s Monopoly
To win the big prizes such as the cash or car you need to collect all the required Monopoly codes for a certain colour. If you manage to complete a set then you win a prize. Sets can be completed via purchases or digital peels. As in the board game the more valuable the location the more valuable the prize (and the rarer the codes). For example find the dark blue property set that consists of Park Lane and Mayfair and you’ll win £100,000. There are 5 x £100K to be won with four on offer via purchases and one on offer via digital play. Complete the green property set, Regent Street, Oxford Street and Bond Street to win 1 of 21 Mini Electric Cars. Twenty of the cars can potentially be won with purchases whilst there’s 1 available for digital peels. The cheapest colour set on a Monopoly board is the brown set comprising of Old Kent Road and Whitechapel Road. Expect to see a lot of these because these have prizes of a McDonald’s Medium Extra Value Meal or a Medium Big Flavour Wrap Meal. There are a whopping 2,050,000 prizes up for grabs for this particular set. You can also get an instant win when you peel your Power Peel sticker. You might be incredibly lucky to discover a £2000 Jet2Holiday but more than likely is you’ll win free food or be offered a discount such as 10% off Train Tickets with TrainPal, 25% off Glow Hub or 20% off Best Western Hotels. You might even get yourself some McDonald’s socks!!
Monopoly Features
McDonald’s have added some extra features to the game: Mayfair Monday, Mr Monopoly Bonus Reward and Bank or Swap Peel. WithMayfair Monday, McDonald’s will pay out a £20,000 cash prize guaranteed in-app on each Monday of the campaign (excluding the last Monday, 14th October 2024). The Mayfair Monday prize can only be won via a Digital Peel, peeled in app on a participating Monday of the campaign. The Mayfair Monday prize does not include the Mayfair Property! The Bonus Reward feature rewards you for entering code pieces during the promotion. According to the terms: “Each Property game-piece code entered via the McDonald’s (UK) app on or before 29th October 2024 will contribute towards a Mr Monopoly Bonus Reward collection. Enter 30 Property game piece codes to receive a Mr Monopoly Bonus Reward. This is worth 1,500 MyMcDonald’s Rewards points which is enough for one of small fries, medium salad, regular McCafé®, mini McFlurry®, hash brown or a regular drink. Finally Bank or Swap gives you a chance to change a popular code and potentially collect a different one. If you choose Swap, your choice will be to either swap for another randomised Digital Property (which could be the same one) which will be awarded to your wallet or you can swap for an entry into a Prize Draw offering the chance to win a £100,000 cash prize.
How To Claim A Prize
If you win a food prize then you pretty much can opt to claim it there and then in restaurant or the next time you visit. Some instant win prizes such as socks may well be available to collect straight away too. Other instant win prizes will provide information about how you can claim them. When it comes to collecting properties the good thing is that as soon as you’ve completed a set then the app will provide you with a form to complete. Once you’ve completed that form you’ll then be asked to provide some more details. Note that the terms also state that “In the majority of cases you will also be required to send your physical Game piece(s) to us via a pre-paid envelope which we will post out to the address specified in the prize claim form”. Therefore make sure you do keep your game pieces safe and don’t discard them once you’ve uploaded the codes to the app. Full details about making prize claims are explained in the FAQ section of the McDonald’s Monopoly section of their website.
Maximise Your McDonald’s Monopoly Chances
To give yourself the best chance of winning the top prizes – or just picking up some foodie freebies – you should use the app to bank your codes. This is simply because you get those digital peels. Every physical peel code you enter equates to one digital peel where you could win a small prize, discount code, free food or a property sticker. If you’ve not signed up for McDonald’s Rewards then do that as well because that will earn you a free bonus peel code that will be sent to your email address. If you only pop into McDonald’s every now and then it might be best to target a Monday simply for the Mayfair Monday element of the promotion. Finally do some wombling! That means keeping an eye out for discarded stickers, wrappers, coffee cups etc whilst you’re out and about. Some people don’t get involved with these kind of promotions and will throw away their packaging without checking the stickers – or they might unpeel the sticker and not be interested in using them. One person’s littering could be useful to you plus there’s the added bonus of keeping your local area tidy. You could even be cheeky/brazen and pick up discarded stickers and packaging in restaurants but do be careful with that approach. Let us know in the comments how you get on with McDonald’s Monopoly 2024.
