Way back in 2017 we launched our daily lotto watch section. It arrived at a time when all and sundry were trying to emulate the success of Pick My Postcode. A mixture of individuals and marketing companies looked at PMP and decided that they could do something similar and so a whole host of "me-toos" were born including Prize Pig, DOB Lotto, Big Free Giveaway, Free Draw Friday, Free Money Lotto, Free National Lotto, Number Plate Lotto, Raffler, Badger The Button, Lucky Phone and even The Selfie Lottery. With an ever growing list of lotteries we decided that a section to keep an eye on who's paying and who's playing was a good idea. Which it was until eight years later and there's not a lot of free lottery sites around. So much so that we've decided that it's time to curtail our free lotto watch section and just create a blog post. In addition we're also now renovating the '
lotto' section as part of our ongoing site redevelopment so it's a good as time as any to do this.

Before Pick My Postcode
Free lottery games were all the rage online many many years ago. These were genuine competition sites that utilised lottery style play to try and generate winners and offer big cash prizes. The Daily Draw, Banana Lotto, Loopy Lotto and many others all jumped on the lottery bandwagon. There was also
Freemoney.fm who were very keen to giveaway cash prizes. They could offer free play simply by getting entrants to qualify their lines by clicking on advertising links. Like The National Lottery though the odds were never favourable to players but The Daily Draw (PDV Limited) did manage to produce a couple of millionaire winners. However, as advertisers became more of the value of clicks and entrants got bored of not winning, these sites soon faded in popularity and eventually closed down. Up until the end of 2010 there was also Virtual World Direct - or the eLottery - you could get free lines simply by paying to play and then referring friends to develop a downline. If they paid and played then you earnt commission. Unfortunately the business was closed down by The High Court.
A Lottery That's A Prize Draw
Pick My Postcode (then The Free Postcode Lottery) launched in 2011 but although it had lottery in it's then title it wasn't actually a lottery. In fact it's a fairly straightforward prize draw. To enter you need to register and submit a postcode. Postcodes are then selected daily and published on the site. Players are encouraged to check the daily results and if the chosen postcode matches your own then you can claim a win of a cash prize. Prizes vary in value. Bigger sites like PMP can afford to giveaway decent prizes as well as rollover unclaimed wins whilst others are a lot less generous. Sites like Pick My Postcode fund their prize pool with advertising and offers. As mentioned above the success of PMP resulted in many other sites trying to emulate the formula but using phone numbers, birthdays, emojis and even car number plates as alternatives to postcodes.
List Of Daily Lottery or Prize Draw Sites
Pick My Postcode - Originally known as The Free Postcode Lottery and the biggest of all free lottos. Open to UK visitors only, the daily main draw stands at £200 (temporarily reduced). There are also survey draws, video draws, stackpots and flash giveaways. The site opened on 1st April 2011 and we thought it sounded like a scam. But Chris Holbrook proved us wrong and has built up a quite formidible brand that's given away over £1million! #AD
My Happy Street - An alternative to Pick My Postcode that uses your streetname rather than postcode. They offer 7 daily cash prizes plus you can earn by signing up for offers, undertaing tasks and applying for free offers. Winners must claim their prize by 11:59 am the next day, or it will roll over to the next draw. #AD
Win A Dinner - Another site from the Pick My Postcode people but this time you can win a free lunch voucher for a variety of outlets, cash paid to Paypal or donate cash to charity. New winners are drawn every day at 4pm and unclaimed prizes are rolled over.
Daymade - Play the free Daily Challenger lottery game for the chance to win a £2500 holiday. Pick 5 numbers between 1 and 75 to enter. You will need to match all 5 numbers to win. The results will be announced on the site at 6pm daily. #AD
Free Birthdate Lottery - Free Birthdate Lottery site has two draws both offering £10 prizes. Enter your birthdate to take part. There are also surveys and other competitions to enter. Note that prizes do not roll over if they aren't claimed.
JamDoughnut - Download the App and register! Then tune in Monday to Friday at 1pm to be in for for a chance of winning cash prizes and vouchers up to £100. You need to login and watch the show just to be automatically entered. Use code
WXFJ (referral) if you're new.
Litterlotto - Download the app and start taking photos of you tidying litter for the chance to win instant win cash prizes or weekly/monthly jackpots. Free to enter but do check the rules before taking your pics.
Are They Worth Entering?
You might be wondering whether the above are worth your time. The good news is that people do win so that's a positive. But the bigger the site then the more people who participate so that's something to consider. That said Pick My Postcode, My Happy Street and Win A Dinner are all easy to join and take part in so if you have a few seconds each day it's just a case of dropping in and checking the results. The other sites are a mish mash. Daymade is free to enter but the chances of winning are pretty remote - in fact negligible - so it's only worth doing as a shot in the dark. Free Birthdate Lottery's prizes are small so that might influence your choice and Litterlotto seems to be a shadow of it's former self. There's a lot of good things said about JamDoughnut but again it's only worth doing if you're free around 1pm on a weekday.
