Raffleade Competitions Review

Raffleade are a pay to enter prize draw site located in Cannock. Launched in 2020 they aim to change lives with dream luxury prizes and charitable donations. At time of writing (March 2024) they were offering mainly cash prizes with tickets at costs varying from cheap (25p) to expensive (£9). About Raffleade Competitions

From what we can understand, Raffleade actually started life as Raffleaid (ASA) although the site is managed under Clarson Limited. Unusually for this sector the site is run by a mother and daughter team, Tracee and Tyne-Lexy. We've known about Raffleade for a while because Loquax users have regularly listed their free prize draws. However this review stems because one user was refused their prize from such a prize draw because they weren't a paying customer - despite this not being evident in the terms. Clarson Ltd have been flagged by ASA on a couple of occasions with respect to how they run their draws so we'd not be surprosed to see them on the rulings lists again. If the free prize draws are for paying customers only then make it clear!! Otherwise pay out the prize!

How To Enter Raffleade Competitions

Entering prize draws at Raffleade is very easy. You simply select the number of tickets you wish to buy for a particular draw, answer a very easy multiple choice question and purchase them. You do need to be registered and logged in to the site to participate. Each prize draw has a limited number of tickets that can be purchased. It's not clear whether thare are limits to the number of entries per person per draw, but there are discounts should you purchase tickets in bulk. A no purchase entry route is available for all prize draws and these are outlined in the terms and conditions. Given the price of tickets versus stamps then it's only really a useful option for the more expensive draws.

Closing Dates

Each prize draw has a limited number of tickets available and a designated closing date. According to their FAQ, competitions are not extended and all prizes go ahead regardless of tickets sold. If tickets sell out really quickly then the prize draw gets closed and drawn earlier than advertised. If you prefer not to wait until the closing date to see if you're a winner then there are some Instant Win prize draws also on the site. These work as you'd expect with a prize instantly awarded (should you win) once you've completed a ticket purchase. As of March 2024 there were a number of different prize draws listed with varying closing dates although most giveaways seem to run for just a few days.

Raffleade Competitions Winners

Prize draw winners are "selected using Google random number generator" and this is all done live via Raffelade's Facebook feed. When the winning number is selected the winner is then shown being highlighted so there's full transparency. Live Draws take place every Monday, Thursday, Friday & Sunday. A full list of winners can be found on social media and on their webpage. The draw results content provides the name of who won and the winning ticket number. There are no links to the prize draw videos though or the entry lists. Furthermore no details are given regarding number of ticket sales for the completed draws (although no one seems to be happy to offer this kind of detail).

Our Verdict

A couple of ASA rulings and not paying out free prize draw prize is not a good look for any pay to enter prize draw site where transparency and honesty is key. But to be fair most of these issues stem from a lack of awareness of CAP and ASA rules with respect to running prize draws. Hopefully they'll resolve the free prize draw issues, but currently there's a £50 site credit free prize draw on Raffleade (March 2024) and yet there's no indication that this is only open to customers who have previously purchased tickets. There are some cheap entry prize draws here and potentially low odds judging by the sales on current giveaways. It's just a shame that they don't want to use the free prize draw as a tool to attract new customers.
