Peruiga in Italy is the location of the next addition to Visit Central Italy's growing list of win a house contests. The format for this one is pretty much the same as all the others with limited descriptions and information. However they have managed to secure one property winner to date and hope to emulate that with this and their other contests. Although no valuation is shown on the page thanks to a Loquax Win A House regular we know it's valued at around €400,000 (£340,000). It is a bit confusing with values in euros and prices on the Visit Central Italy site in dollars mind!
How To Enter The Competition
The property on offer is a four bedroom villa with beautiful antique tiled floors and a thermo fireplace. We wonder if the villa has been used as a restaurant as it also has a private bar, huge tavern/ party room, and even indoor BBQ and pizza ovens. However the property does look more residential than holiday home or holiday let. Visit Central Italy could improve their service with more details about locality, nearest airports, rentals etc. As far as we know all costs and taxes will be covered by Visit Central Italy although if you already own property in Italy then second home tax is not included.
To enter the competition you need to purchase a ticket and leave an answer to the question "what is Perugia famous for". Apparently there's meant to be a pop up but we've never seen it and instead entrants are advised to use the notes section to leave the answer when at the checkout. In the first Visit Central Italy competition there was a free entry route option. The terms do say "there's a limit of one free postal entry per household to be sent to the promoter" but the details about how to use a NPN route aren't very clear.
Unknown Ticket Sales
Again thanks to one of our regulars we can tell you that 50,000 tickets are on sale for this particular competition. The competition is expected to run for at least a year or until all tickets are sold. If insufficient tickets are sold then the winners will receive a cash prize. This will be determined after the deduction of any expenses and marketing fees but the promoters fail to say how much this could be. As in their previous competition we'd like this to be better outlined.
Visit Central Italy look like they're in the win a house competition business for the long haul (or at least the next year) so come on guys use some of that time to sort the website out. More information about the property, the location, amenities, costs etc would be very benficial. As would a easier to use payment and entry system. We're not sure how this particular contest will progress. We're not sure whether the property needs to be more holiday home orientated? We'll find out in a year!
