The Ireland property competitions keep on coming and for this one we're heading to County Wicklow. The property is located in Greystones which according to the owner has been voted "Most Livable Community In The World". The owner also says that properties in the area sell up for one million but you'll not be winning a million pound property in this contest. On offer is a one bedroom apartment. No valuation is given but looking at similar properties for sale in the area a one bed apartment is typically valued in the region of 230,000 Euros.
About The Property
This is another property competition where the owner is keener to sell the location than the prize on offer. We know that it's a one bedroom apartment plus there's a little video tour on Raffall, but that's pretty much all the details they provide. They do mention that the apartment could realise 1400 Euros a month, but they don't give details about any service charges etc. We presume that what you see in the video is what you get and to be fair the property does look to be of a high standard. All Legal costs and stamp duty will be paid by the host if the competition completes.
How To Enter The Competition
To enter the raffle you need to be registered with Raffall. This can be done via Facebook or email login. Once at the house raffle page it's a case of answering a question and purchasing tickets. The question pops up in a window which we found disappeared very quickly. Tickets cost £10 and there's no limit to the number you can purchase. You can purchase online using debit cards. A donation of 5% will be made to Ross Nugent Foundation Charity but do note that this only occurs if enough tickets are sold to award the property.
20,000 Ticket Sales
The promoter, Ann-Marie Sparkes, hopes to sell 20,000 tickets (total revenue £400,000) by the end of October 2021 in order to conclude the draw. If insufficient tickets are sold then the winners will receive a share of the compensation amounting to 75% of all ticket sales. All compensation payments are guaranteed and paid directly by Raffall Limited. This is a little bit different to house competitions run by individuals and should offer more assurance to entrants.
This is an attractive looking apartment which if rented out could be a nice investment property for any winner. The ticket target seems a lot more realistic than some other recent Ireland contests and this could help it along. There is a Facebook page promoting the competition and it's starting to get some press coverage. However it's going to need a bit of a push for the ball to start rolling. Our main concern is that with more and more Ireland competitions getting underway whether 'contest fatigue' from entrants may start to set in.
