In 2020 Cwellyn Dream managed to sell enough tickets to giveaway their two bedroomed cottage close to the Snowdonia National Park. They're now back for a sequel and again North Wales is the location of the property. On offer is a luxurious three bedroom farmhouse that was built around 1811. It's in Rhoslan, Criccieth which makes an ideal location either for living the dream or for use as a holiday rental. The property is valued at just under £500,000 which makes it a bit more expensive than the original competition property.

How To Enter The Competition

As well as three bedrooms the property has a cosy living living room, dining room and modern kitchen. The farmhouse has been renovated by David and Christine Jones who have made sure the original restored oak beams and stone features throughout. Outside there's parking for 2 to 3 cars and gardens to the front and rear. No furniture is included in the prize. As mentioned this would be a very good holiday let option and Cwellyn Dream indicate that you could realise £2000 a week in rental. Conveyancing costs, up to a maximum of £2000 including VAT, and any Stamp Duty incurred by the winner will be covered by the property owners

To enter you'll need to register and then answer a multiple choice question to qualify for the draw - note you aren't told if you're right or wrong. To complete the entry you'll need to purchase tickets. These cost £5 each. All entrants are asked to consider a £1 donation to The Children's Society - thereby making the entry £6. All donations that are made will be matched by the owners. A free no purchase entry option is available. Details of how to enter via a postal route are given in the FAQ and terms.

130,000 Tickets

The target for this competition is 130,000 paid for tickets (£650,000) in order to create another home winner. As far as we can see there isn't a maximum ticket level therefore the competition will run until the closing date in June if all tickets sell quickly. The promoters reserve the right to extend this date by just 28 days. If insufficient tickets are sold then a cash prize alternative will be awarded. This will be the money taken from ticket sales minus an administration fee. This fee is capped at 20%.

As part of the competition all entrants have the chance to win £10,000 via referrals. The entrant with the most referrals will win the cash prize. However this award will only happen if the minimum number of tickets are sold. In short the promoters want entrants to advertise their competition and support their chosen charity. However they will only reward these points if the property is sold. We think both these points are a little bit unfair.

Our Verdict

Cwellyn Dream have taken their time in returning to the property competition arena and this looks to have paid dividends. The property on offer is equally as desirable as the first competition. Comparatively to other competitions currently running the ticket price is higher than many Raffalls but we think the ticket target is reasonable. Other property competition services such as Rafflehouse could learn from this! Others could learn from the ease of use of the website and details provided.

There is of course high expectation on Cwellyn Dream's shoulders to have a second successful competition so can they pull it off? There's no reason to think that they can't as the first competition was run so well. By being open and transparent plus developing an interested audience they have built up trust. That trust is vital when spending money on these kind of sites. If only all win a house promotions were run like Cwellyn Dream! Enter Competition Here
