Raffle site, Elite Competitions, are back for a fifth property giveaway. In previous contests they've offered a choice of houses and locations but for this one they're location specific. The property is a three bedroom mid terrace mews property within walking distance of Cleveleys Centre. The exact location is giveny Elite which does make finding out about the property a lot easier. For example we think it's the
same property that's gone up for sale with McKenzie Estate Agents on the 15th December 2021. Offers in the region of £165,000 are invited. We're not a big fan of property raffles running alongside estate agent listings and this does raise a little concern (e.g. what if the house is sold before the contest ends - and the winner wants the house?).
The Property
As mentioned this is a three bedroom mews property which looks like a new build. The kitchen includes built in appliances and as far as can see the rooms are either laminated or carpeted. The garden is landscaped which seems to be a posh way of saying that it has a laid lawn. Off street parking is available at the front of the property. Elite suggest that the property would be ideal for rental and could achieve £700 to £800 per month. Given that Blackpool is just down the road it could work out well as an Air BnB. To assist with furnishing the property a cash amount of £10,000 will also be awarded to the winner.
How To Enter
To enter the raffle you need to be registered with Elite Competitions. Set up an account and then choose your tickets from the many that are available. You can pick your own ticket or use a Lucky Dip option. As far as we're aware there's no skill element involved. There is a free entry route though and this is outlined in the terms and conditions. Note that you will need to register an account to take advantage of this route. We don't believe that any funds will be donated to charity.
59980 Ticket Sales
Elite Competitions hopes to sell 59,980 tickets (total revenue about £500K to £540K) by the end of January 2022 in order to conclude the draw. If insufficient tickets are sold then the competition can be extended by 7 days for up to four turns. If after that all the tickets are not sold then a winner will receive a cash alternative prize of 70% of tickets sales. The remaining 30% is retained by the promoter. However Elite Competitions have stated that the prize is guaranteed to be won.
Our Verdict
Elite like McKinney really seem to know how to get winners for their property raffles. They say that a winner is guaranteed so that's good news too. If you're keen to enter then get in early as there's an early bird ticket price of £5 - usually this price ends once half the tickets have been sold. The only issue with this particular property is that it is up for sale on an estate agent - and it's not like that it's been up for sale for very long either. Given that Elite are based in Blackpool we suspect they know the developer but it's still not good form to have a raffle property up for sale at the same time.
