Golden Ticket Online - Closed - Refunds
Derrick Evans, aka Mr Motivator, is giving entrants the chance to win his amazing Jamaican home, $40K and The H'Evans Scent Adventure Park in this house raffle. The price is $30 (about £23).
Launched: 6th September 2018 Closed: 31st May 2019
Location: Jamaica, WA1
House Value: £1800000
Ticket Price: £23.00 (Free Entry Available)
Tickets Sold: Unknown
The prize itself is pretty spectacular - it's worth visiting Golden Ticket Online just to look over what's being given away. The winner not only gets a Caribbean property, but a business (along the lines of Go Ape) and consultation time with Evans so that they can get up and running. The property includes all furnishings too.
No Skill Required
Entry to the competition is by a direct raffle. As far as we know there's no skill element required. This maybe be because the competition is being run in Jamaica? The competition is open worldwide (where legal) but there are elements of this promotion that need flagging.
Firstly the terms and conditions are pretty well hidden. You'll find them at the foot of the page just before you go to the payment process. By our reckoning, Mr Motivator will need to sell 80,000 tickets just to cover the cost of the property value. But what happens if not enough tickets are sold?
How Many Tickets?
At no point in the terms does it indicate the minimum number of tickets that need to be sold. There's no indication of maxium tickets either - or what happens if funds in do not cover the cost of sale. Will a cash prize be awarded instead of the house? Or will there be an extension to the closing date?
Hopefully we can locate this information, but without it we'd advise caution. We'd also advise being cautious about winning a business. The Golden Ticket website fails to provide information about how it's performing, running costs, or value if was to be sold. In fact the website is pretty scant in details.
We loved Mr Motivator when he was on GMTV back in the day and this prize is - at least at first glance - incredible. However, the proposition needs a good work out because for our liking there's just too much information missing.
