To date the Raffall platform has attracted modestly priced properties so perhaps it was only time that a more expensive one would test the water. This property which is currently also listed for sale on Zoopla is available for a mere £1million. The property is located in the West Yorkshire town of Holmfirth which is famous for being the home of Last Of The Summer Wine. Marc Bryden is the owner and he's hoping it's desirability will attract would be entrants to the Raffall platform.
How To Enter
The barn conversion is impressive. It boasts 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. One of the bedrooms is located on the ground floor alongside a study area, modern kitchen and huge living spaces. It also has a detached double garage, triple stable block, ménage and extensive grazing paddocks. According to Zoopla the property has recently been completed and is ready to occupy. This is most certainly one of the best looking properties on Raffall but in our view the promoter hasn't done enough to detail what's on offer. Our advice is to check out the Zoopla listing!
To enter the raffle you need to be registered with Raffall. This can be done via Facebook or email login. Once at the house raffle page it's a case of answering a question and purchasing tickets. The question pops up in a window which we found disappeared very quickly. Tickets only cost £1 and there's no limit to the number you can purchase. You can purchase online using debit cards. This property competition will make donations to charity if more than 250,000 tickets are sold.
300,000 Ticket Sales
Davidson hopes to sell 300,000 tickets (total revenue £1,500,000) before the end of October in order to conclude the draw. If insufficient tickets are sold then the winners will receive a share of the compensation amounting to 75% of all ticket sales. All compensation payments are guaranteed and paid directly by Raffall Limited. This is a little bit different to house competitions run by individuals and should offer more assurance to entrants. The fact that the previous competition concluded within 4 weeks may also encourage entries.
There's no doubt that this is a stunning property but details are lacking. The promoter must be hoping that the images on Raffall "sell" the offer. We're unsure about houses being on the market and up for raffle too. The £5 price point is also interesting. All other Raffall competitions have been £1 or £2 to enter whilst recent house successes have been priced at £2. Moving the bar up is a risk even for the best looking homes. We wonder if entrants will be less tempted to purchase tickets when the prices start to rise.
