Win a House in Ireland competitions continue to increase in number and East Cork is the destination for the latest. Located in the seaside village of Whitegate the owners of the property have decided to sell their "dream home" via raffle. The owners say that it is time to move on but don't provide any other details as to why. The house is in a small estate of only five houses but no valuation is provided. We've made an estimate based on valuations of based on other properties that are for sale in the area.

About The Prize

The owner of this home haven't really provided much details about their dream home. A small paragraph on the competition page explains that it has three bedrooms and three bathrooms. There's a sitting room with wood stove plus kitchen/breakfast room. The outside space has a newly built deck which offers sublime sea views. You can see the outside space and property in a series of images on Raffall. There's also a 30 second video of the sea which adds very little to proceedings. We anticipate that legal fees and taxes will be covered by the owner but these are not mentioned in the text.

How To Enter The Competition

To enter the raffle you need to be registered with Raffall. This can be done via Facebook or email login. Once at the house raffle page it's a case of answering a question and purchasing tickets. The question pops up in a window which we found disappeared very quickly. Tickets cost £20 and there's no limit to the number you can purchase. You can purchase online using debit cards. As far as we're aware no good causes are being supported by this particular raffle.

20,000 Ticket Sales

The promoter hopes to sell 20,000 tickets (total revenue £400,000) by mid July 2021 in order to conclude the draw. If insufficient tickets are sold then the winners will receive a share of the compensation amounting to 75% of all ticket sales. All compensation payments are guaranteed and paid directly by Raffall Limited. This is a little bit different to house competitions run by individuals and should offer more assurance to entrants.

Our Verdict

Ireland Home competitions are difficult to call as despite the high ticket prices they do attract entries. This particular property looks really nice but we do wonder whether the owners have made the most of their competition. There's very little information about the home and the video of the sea really doesn't add anything. We'd have thought that the images of the property (such as the one we've included here) would be more attractive. Enter Competition Here
