Stella Wong has opted to use Raffall to giveaway her two bedroomed apartment in Manchester. We don't know the exact location but it is "only a short walk from Deansgate". Also missing from the description is the valuation of the property on offer. Two thing strike us about this particular raffle. Firstly the promoter is offering the furniture as part of the package. This is ideal as it means any potential winner can immediately move in or rent out the flat. However the second big point is the closing date is in September 2021. That's a bit on the long side!

How To Enter The Competition

So what do we know about the prize on offer. Well it's a two bedroomed apartment with an open plan lounge. The lounge also has double doors that lead to a Juliet balcony. It has a fully fitted kitchen whilst outside the owners will have a secure parking space. The prize includes all legal fees and stamp duty however there's no indication of service charges which we think are kind of important to disclose. Remember as soon as you become the owner of a new flat, regardless if you've won it, then you're going to need to pay bills like service charges. The rates of these should be disclosed.

To enter the raffle you need to be registered with Raffall. This can be done via Facebook or email login. Once at the house raffle page it's a case of answering a question and purchasing tickets. The question pops up in a window which we found disappeared very quickly. Tickets only cost £1.80 and there's no limit to the number you can purchase. You can purchase online using debit cards. As far as we're aware this property competition is not making any donations to charity.

200,000 Ticket Sales

Wong hopes to sell 200,000 tickets (total revenue £360,000) by September 2021 in order to conclude the draw. If insufficient tickets are sold then the winners will receive a share of the compensation amounting to 75% of all ticket sales. All compensation payments are guaranteed and paid directly by Raffall Limited. This is a little bit different to house competitions run by individuals and should offer more assurance to entrants.

Whilst the lack of location and valuation which is typical for Raffall hosted competitions is an annoyance, the long closing date is the biggest irritation here. Unless there's a rapid uptake of tickets at the start to snowball the raffle then there's no rush to make a purchase. In fact we would only enter once it looks like the competition is well underway. A 13 month window to sell tickets kind of defeats the object of running a raffle versus actually just putting it on the market. We can't see this one being successful. Enter Competition Here
